I have had such great luck with Leupolds that they hold my #1 & 2 spots as hunting favourites; first the 2.5x8 is my absolute favourite with a good magnification range and optics. #2 would be a 1-4X of some form and if I could pick up a Patrol model with non adjustable turrets that would be even better than an old standby 1-4X model I have. They are fairly light, bright, and the light gathering ability at the low end in the woods is awesome. A number of rifles also have older, fixed power Leupolds at 3X, 4X, and 6X plus an old 10X target scope. They just never seem to fail. But just to show that I'm only a partial Leupold groupie, I really like a Burris 3-9 I bought secondhand, NIB a few years ago and many of my older rifles use plain old Weaver bases and rings. I like reliable and dependable in life, whether it be scopes, rifles, or people.
