I've got one (1.5x4.5) that won't focus beyond the end of the barrel and the magnification won't adjust. Otherwise in good condition, not abused.

Is it worth pursuing warranty?

Thanks for you help.

I had a 3-9x40 Scope chief some years back that blew the crosshairs. I'd had it on my .300WM for 25+years. Lifetime guarantee in those days. I sent it back to bushnell in it's original box, with paper work and original receipt.( Yes, I'm anal like that.) I was told that "Lifetime" is considered to be 20 years. After much arguing, they sent me a much cheaper scope. Never bought a Bushnell again.

That is interesting, because I had the opposite response when I sent a Scope Chief in a few years back . They replaced it with a 4200.

wait until you find out how long a lifetime in jail really is

My experience with Bushnell was not good. Replacement was a cheaper model, don't by their scopes anymore even though I like them. 3200, 4200 etc are nice and clear.

The last Scope Chief that I sent back was declared too old to fix and I got nothing. Didn’t bother me too much, I guess I got my use out of it. Not like the current at the time bushnells that went bad, and when fixed were still junk.life is too short.

Is leupold better, I've got one with a chipped obj. lens.
Yes.
Use it.

I have an old plum looking M8 4X with a healthy gouge thru the ocular lense.
Looking thru the scope and it’s not visible.

My buddy laffed at me until he looked thru it.

Unbelievable……was his only comment.

Keep the Bushynull caps and chuck the rest.

We set up nfg scopes on a stand and run it out to 100 yards.
Place the scope so the objective lense is facing our shooting bench.
See whom the first to run a round thru it.

My Tikka T3 223 never fails.

I think I will. It's clear and bright and is a good match for my gun (Win 88 in 308) and the the small fields I hunt. Might as well find out.

Found a Scope Chief IV 3-8x with Command Post option in a charity shop for $30. not long ago. I thought that was pretty good for a scope made in Japan.

The optics on the ScopeChief line are decent glass. I'm in agreement to send it to Trace. Bushnell replaced a 4200 Elite with a way lesser quality scope. Won't do that again.
