I thought sights needed proper import permits from the USA. There is a guy in the US saying he can ship directly to my PO Box. It’s just simple rifle sights. Is this ok to do or do I need someone to import for me?

I don’t want to lose them at the border, and lose my cash in the process.

Sorry, I haven’t kept up on all the stupid rules the last few years.

Company is called Doves custom guns.

Thanks!

I ordered a set last year from NECG, they arrived safe and sound with no additional paperwork required. Could have been luck but it worked for me.

The laws have changed
No export permit on sights but when you pick up your parts at post office, Canada post will charge you a 25 percent duty thanks to Ottawa overlords

I have ordered NECG sights directly a dozen times with no issue. The paperwork requirement is on the manufacturers end. Many small manufacturers don't see the Canadian market worth the expense and hassle.

No they won’t. This ended Sep 1

Sights can be shipped direct. I’ve had several sent in the last 6 months.

I have never been charged any HST for orders of $150 or less that I pick up in the US. I never use Canada Post, FedEx or UPS as I hate being ripped off plus a lot of stuff shipped within the US is free.
