model 70 stainless/wood short action.

Winchester did not offer the classic in stainless/wood except in the long action. So I bought a stainless/synthetic in 308, a short action stock from a push feed lightweight with the featherwight barrel. I scooped out the factory bedding goop and bedded the lug with acruglass, had the trigger set at 48 oz and topped it with leupold DD mts and a vxii 3-9x40. I weighs 7.6lb as shown here. The fit is perfect. I finally fired it today and it is a delight to shoot.
Rifle, stock, scope were all aquired from CGN members as well as the info on bedding. What a resource we have here! Bob
