Rim fire 22 rifles that can legally run large capacity mags

All of them as long as it's not a 10-22 mag
Legally? As long as they weren't manufactured for the charger and 10/22, they're still legal as no law says otherwise. The butler creek 25 round mags were designed before the charger exusted so clearly they were not designed for it. The gsg drums dont even fit in a charger without modification. I know about the rcmp letter but the question was what is legal not what is in a rcmp letter that has no actual legal standing. I dont want to spend time in court with the rcmp but i also dont own any non restricted rifles anymore so itsa non-issue.

Funny. But I'm sure the RCMP knows exactly what's what and has it on their hit list.

This is a good point. If they REALLY don't already know the common 22lr rifles with >10rd mags, they're really slacking...

However, the OP asked what's legal, not what is available. And what's legal is all of them, except the few exceptions due to pistol mags.

Gsg 16 for now untill somebody comes up with a pistol version and imports it into Canada and screws us again

Again, not an issue. This wouldn't hold up in court (like the 10/22 fiasco).

The GSG16 magazines were designed for the GSG16 rifle. If they manufacture a 'pistol' version afterwards (god no), the magazines were still originally designed for the rifle, but happen to fit the pistol version.

Someone really need to bring the whole 'dual use bs' to court.

Ruger 10/22

Put whatever size mag you like in it.

The interpretation provided by the RCMP remains unchallenged.

All 22lr rifles have no magazine limit, unless that magazine is also designed or manufactured for a pistol (at which point pistol limit of 10 applies).
I could be wrong , but I don't think this is law . Last I heard it is a RCMP directive that has not been tested in court ! Who has the $ to do that lol , and the gun orgs are no help on the matter . How many Butler Creek 25 rounders are out there & some still unwittingly being used . Just sayin !

No. It's law.

3 (1) (b) that is capable of containing more than 10 cartridges of the type for which the magazine was originally designed and that is designed or manufactured for use in a semi-automatic handgun that is commonly available in Canada.

The 10/22 example with butler creek mags is a questionable situation due to the timeline - the mags existed before the handgun, so how could they have been made for the handgun being the rationale behind thinking the RCMP are wrong on that one. The issue is not whether pistol mags are limited to 10 (they are), it's whether the mag in question is a pistol mag or not.

But that's only one specific example. Other examples exist that don't have that timeline issue. Keltec PMR30 and CMR30 for example both in 22wmr. First came the handgun, later came the rifle. Because the rifle was designed to use the magazine from the pistol it is limited to the restrictions of the pistol magazine, even though regular capacity for the magazines is 30 (hence the name). For examples like this there is no grey area, no room for questionable RCMP interpretations.

I thought about making an extended magazine for my bolt action .22... But it was going to be 3 feet long (the same oal as the rifle) and I am sure it would have feeding problems... so I just bought a second magazine. lol

You could always buy the IBI 10/22 magazine conversion that lets you run Remington 597 mags in the 10/22. Promag makes a 22 round 597 mag that fits in the conversion and works very well.
