A rimfire scope to me must have side focus or adjustable objective. Which generally means at least 12x on the zoom.
I've tried rimfire scopes. Parallax fixed at 50. Work great, you can use max zoom in close but once you shoot out to 100 plus like is common with a good rifle in a gopher patch everything's blurry and it simply doesn't work well.
Centerfire scopes work well on the far shots but you can't use more than about 7x at 50 yards and even there you can have parallax issues.
With a scope with adjustable parallax all these issues are gone.
