No bow, just play it with fingers? Awesome! Laugh2

At long last, a worthwhile upgrade of my old WINCHESTER THUMBTRIGGER MODEL 99. A handy little takedown .22rf weighing just 3 lbs, introduced in 1904, sold for $3.50, and was made until 1923. Just over 75,000 were produced with the majority of those being sold in Australia.

This one is stamped as being chambered for 22 short and long. It was changed in 1914 to also handle the .22 Extra Long cartridge. This gun therefore is pre-1914.

Even its buttplate was custom designed with its early WINCHESTER TRADE MARK cast into the hard black rubber, AND each of its two attaching screws were decorated with a floral design on the flat of their heads.

It's a real attention getter and conversation piece. Happy to have a better specimen of it now.

beautiful stock

mb101, that is a fabulous stock. I have ordered a Richards in a similar colour, but it will need a bunch of work to finish. Wish I had known about yours. Also have a new Weatherby which is a very nice piece of wood , but can't post photos until some future date/ no. of posts?
