Hi
I would like to put a scope on my marlin 795 but can't really decide.
Prefer 2x7 or 3x9 compact and light
Have tried nikon P-rimfire, burris fullfield and some other but there is so many choises that I can really decide.

Budget of 200$ (+/-50$)

Leupold 2-7x33 makes a nice fit.
Parallax can be adjusted to fit your yardage.

Yes I looked for it but if I'm not mistaken they go for about 400$ ?
I plan on buying a ruger 22bolt in 22mag so I would put more money on that one instead of my little semi 22.

For your budget you might be able to find a Weaver rimfire 3-9 that has adjustable parallax. The local CT had them on sale at one point for $150ish so I grabbed one to try. I was so happy with it for the price I went back and got two more the next time I was in the city.

only weaver with parrallax I have found is the RV9 and they go for $400ish USD is not in our favor.

I do have one in the box waiting for a home, but i think i'll hang onto it.

Ya thats the one. I bought them when the dollar was a little stronger. I was quite surprised by the price, most places had them for around $250 at the time. The RV7 is out there too. Same quality glass but a 2-7, no parallax and a fair bit cheaper.

I bought the Bushnell AR series 2-7x. BDC reticle, nice turrets, but what sold it was the side focus down to 10 yards, I think. Very handy on a .22. Glass seems nice and clear. I think it's a great value.

Same here. Put this one my 795. It's a bit heavy but that's my only complaint! For the price it's great value.

I compared the weight of both the Bushnell Ar series and the Nikon P-Rimfire.
Bushnell: 555gr / 1.225lbs / 19.6oz
Nikon: 456gr / 1lbs / 16,1oz
I mounted my Nikon yesterday and felt quite well the weight difference on my marlin that weight 4,5lbs scope vs no scope but still will be very handy for small game hunting.

Bushnell Banner 3-9x40, $99 or Tasco Varmint (company now owned by Bushnell) 10-24x50, $159... Both at the local Walmart.
