Hi my name is Andrew. I'm looking for some new friends who enjoy shooting there rimfires outdoors. I live just outside the city limits on an acreage. I shoot indoors in the cold/ windy days but when it's nice out, I'd rather shoot outdoors, farther than 25yds and at no range cost. I like saving money for ammo/guns.
Anyway please take a look at 6mmbr.com tactical rimfire competition.
I'd like to practice something like that here. I've contacted Homestead range and there is nothing like it offered.
I have swinging targets, metal knock down targets and paper to shoot at. I'd love a dualing tree but a good one is crazy expensive.
If this interests you, please contact me.
Thanks Andrew

Sounds fun. I have a small gong perfect for 22 lr. My anshultz hasn't been fired over 50 yards since I've owned it. Time to stretch it's legs?

Awesome thanks guys. The more the better. I shoot all sorta of gun on my acreage but for now with over three shooters, I'd like to keep it to rimfire only.
Do you guys have any metal targets other than S-daddy?

I do not, unfortunately. Not having access to either private property or a range that allows it, I haven't had the need to buy or make any. However, it would be fun to design and build a couple...

I have a small MIG welder that is manageable even for a chimp like me, along with an oxy-acetylene torch if necessary. Maybe we could have a target making party on a decent winter saturday afternoon?

And the company I work for buys a great deal of metal from Ryerson. I could source us some plate, AR400, AR500, or the like.

If it's free, I'm not complaining. My 1/4" cost me $75 iirc. I've tested 3/8" and 1/2" and 223 and 8mm surplus just mushroom the 1/2" but that's cold rolled steel.
I'd really like to get a 4x8' sheet of 1/4" if alot of us start shooting. I could set something up on skids so it's portable.
Iirc, it was going to cost $275+tax for the sheet.
As for the dualing tree, simple brackets from UFA. I've tested it and even at close range it's fine. I just need someone to cut out some circle metal targets out of some scrap metal I have.

I can usually get welded link chain and all sorts of worn cutting edges from machinery that made good high power targets but that are too heavy for rimfire. If the targets don't swing or move enough you get ricochets.

Be happy to come help out however I can.

Awesome guys, please if you could stash away your scrap metal and on a warm day I'll contact you guys and have a target making session. BS about our guns and shoot for abit.
I have lots of cardboard and staples to put up targets. If you guys could bring some targets also, it would be appreciated.
I have a bench grinder and some tools, just don't have a wielder and cutter.
Andrew

I have 3 steel targets mounted on hinges that you can have. They have been painted with epoxy. The painter at work wants to know if the paint holds up to rimfire. They are not welded I tapped the steel so you can change the targets.

Hey Andrew, I'm definitely interested! would be a lot of fun.. I only have some cheap metal targets that I purchased from Wholesale sports, but I'm willing to buy some more metal targets and leave them with you. what do you think? send me a PM :) how far are you from calgary? which quadrant ?

cheers
