Rings+Bases, what are you guys using?

Burris Signatures on two piece mounts.

Either Weaver standard QD rings, Leupold PRW or some form of detachable ring for one-piece rails. Burris needs to update their signatures to a QD type of effort to tip on and not slide on. It drives me nuts: the rings are great except for that.

Well what are you guys using on your bolt-actions. Looking to try something different this time around. I have the scope, but would like to hear what rings and bases are to like or hate. In the past I've used weaver style base with millet anglelock or burris Z-rings. Neither have given me any grief.
If these have served you well, why the change? I've used this system on lots of rifle with no problems at all.

Tally LWs are another that I use and like.

308 and over i use steel base and rings under a 308 you can get away with cheaper stuff, the recoil is the determing factor... JP.

Here's some pictures of my rifle I just finished up. the mount is a Near Manufacturing "AlphaHunter" one piece mount and I cannot say enough about it. It's a true work of art.

All in all it's a stock Rem 700 SPS stainless with 2lb timney trigger, HS bottom metal, McMillan Edge ultralight Olive stock, Near alphamount and Nightforce 2.5-10x32mm scope with NP-R2 reticle.

Can't wait to get her shooting!

That sure is a nice looking ring-base setup!

I've got mostly Leopold rings w 2 pc bases on my M-700s. On my old M-700 .30-06 I've got the one pc base.

I have Warne rings on my ZKK-602 and CZ-550.

Finally, on my Marlin M-1895GS, I've got Weaver rings & base and my Marlin M-1895XLR has Leopold 2 pc rings and bases.

Pretty much buy Leopold scopes - I am fan of the Vari-X III - but haven't bought a scope since the Vari-X III was phased out. I've got a Tasco, a few Bushnells and a Baush & Lomb Balvar.

I prefer low power variable scopes on my rifles.

Leupold PRW and bases. love em. on all my centerfires.
give the torque screws a liberal coating of clear nail polish and everything is locked down.
burris signature zee on my rimfires.

If ur not worried about weight...Near manufacturing

For the weight of 3 oz for the one piece alphahunter mount, I don't believe you'd ever find a ring/base combo to match the strength to weight ratio. I'm no expert, but to me I'll sacrifice a bit of weight for strength. Is 3oz not really light compared to rings and bases as a combo? I chose the alphahunter because I knew it was fairly light but really strong, what would a really light rings and bases combo weigh?
