Rings don't fit my Sako

So you bought a sako from other guy not the store.May have mixed them. Most times sako has their own set of rings and they are a bit different than your regular rings . Go look for sako rings specifically - Biggs

And they only go on the dovetail one way, as the rings are tapered to match the rail.

So I had my wife try to invert the plate over the phone and she says it only goes on one way. Bummer.

Just check if the two rings bottoms are the same width.

I think there is a packaging mix up and you have two front rings.

just went and looked at mine, and the block is correct. As stated above, it does look like the back ring is too big, making your set 2 front rings.

can you post pics of the bottoms of them beside each other?

There is a significant difference in width between front and rear...

wrong rings, no need to keep trying. Sako rings are very specific

I have no clue which maker turned out those one piece rings and bases. They look a little bit like the Leupolds. Are they possibly aftermarket parts for a Tikka?

Get the Sako Optilock rings and bases. They are worth the investment. User friendly and no need to lap. You just made a respectable investment on the rifle so try not to recoil from the $200 for mounts.

I've tried them on several Sako rifles and don't like them, too heavy and bulky the bases in particular.

I have come to love Burris rings on my Sako Rifles.

This exactly! I've never understood why people would buy a rifle with lovely, integral dovetails...and then start screwing on bases, onto which they then screw rings. The "ringmounts", which I think is what Sako calls them, are so much cleaner, simpler and more attractive. The Leupold ringmounts for Sako dovetails are my favourite. They are even sleeker than the OEM ones, and they offer a bit more eye relief as well.

I think those look like Leupolds for the Tikka dovetails.

Optilock rings are over-engineered and over-priced. They cannot mount a scope in the lowest position, AND come with ridiculously soft screws? Even Millets are better, and that is saying something!

Find a set of original SAKO rings. They will cost you less money, are windage adjustable, and far superior quality.
