I have been thinking of this rifle alot ever since I saw the ULTIMATE SNIPER (DVD) by Major John Plaster. I would have to say this rifle is absolutely immaculate. When I looked up the word: "Perfection" in the dictionary...it showed a picture of the SP90.

Now I've been feening to get one. Has enyone ever shot one, held one, or saw one? Does Robar ship products to Canada? or could I purchase one from a dealer?

If it came down to it, I would sell my current sniper system for $2,000.00 flat and put an extra $2,000.00 down and get myself a Robar SR90 in .308 Win.

What do you guys think of this masterpiece?

Has anyone ever shot one?
Would anyone ever buy one?

Thanks.

If you are going to spend that kind of money for and off the shelf rifle, you might as well go custom all the way. Get what you want, not what they want to sell you.

They are custom..

Unertl has been pumping out custom arms since before any of us have been around.

Today's Unertl company is not the same company it was 20 years ago.
Things change, not knocking Unertl by any means. They make very good products.

I would not say Unertl rifles are custom. They don't give you a choice of stock, barrel or barrel length, caliber, etc that you would get from a custom made rifle.
When you are forking out that much money, you want choices.
Even a 40X out of the Remington Custom shop is not really a custom rifle, you are getting what they provide as a custom rifle.
Try ordering a 6.5x.284 with a 30" Kreiger barrel from the Remington custom shop or Unertl, good chance you won't get it.

Why in Gods name would you drop that kind of money for a tuned up Remington?? Are you crazy? There is lots of good stuff out there to buy made in many different countries! That would be like buying a tuned up Ford from the local garage when you can buy a Ferrari for the same price!

Say no to drugs!

If ya want that, why not get this and it's Canadian!! Alberta Tactical Rifle

Having had personal dealings with ATR aswell, I would agree with Long Range Canuck in the above post. Rick's product and service is second to none and having had the pleasure of shooting quite a few rifles by the "big name" builders in the US, IBA, Robar, Nor-Cal, etc.... Rick at ATR is every bit as good and he is here in Canada, and best of all, no worries about long wait times and the end of the day, a gun that is just as good, maybe even better as he will build what you want with the best products possible.

The advantage of going custom is that you can integrate your own ideas into your system, rather than those thought to be marketable by someone else. In my case a 1:8 twist 28" Krieger barrel, Jewell trigger, Anschutz rail added to the A-5 stock. There is still a bit of tweaking to do, but it's coming.

Cause it hits what I point it at?:)

+ one for thoses who suggest you to custom built this rifle here in canada, the SR-90 is nothing more than a TRICKY 700 action... I will have some 5R groove barrel with the m-24 contour, it's the factory M-24 barrel in fact, still 2 left for sale,OR you can even choose a EXCELLENT canadian barrel maker, SKULLBOY or so can make the same camo finish too, give that to one of our EXCELLENT gunsmith in canada, include a short action 700 and have your smith order a Mcmillan stock and you will have a rifle that will shout as well BUT wil be made SPECIALLY for you.
ASK to LONGRANGE CANUCK and BOOMERS if ther like their toy's

...

I have been following Robar since the beginning when he first introduced the SR60. Spoke with him once or twice in the early 90's to talk about his rifles. He does quality work. His latest version the SR100 is based on a quad lock action (if memory serves me right) What really separates him from the rest isn't so much his custom Rem 700's, it is that he has made leaps in the field of lubricants and coatings.

The rifles themselves are solid but nothing that can not be built here in Canada.

You do get +1 on the cool factor for having a Robar named rifle (but only in the US not allot of folks up here have heard of him) but the fit and function of his rifles can be matched in Canada. After all there are only so many things that can be done to a rifle based on the Remington 700 Platform.

As Sendero pointed out you can get a 5R barrel from him or if you’re interested maybe someone can import a Schneider or a Border 5C barrel for you.

If you really want to shoot the lights out you could look at a PGW action and go from there. Or look at the new Stiller Predator actions based on the Remington 700.

In the end I did not buy a Robar rifle. After doing allot more research I found a Canadian builder that had a comparable if not BETTER reputation for quality and bought from him. Sorry he is no longer building rifles.

I heard there is a guy around Ottawa, that builds world class composite stocks... i just can't seem to remember what his name is...:p

Believe it or not there is a shop in Ottawa that employs six full time people and all they do is manufacture stocks and ship them all over the world. Canadian eh!
