RobArm XCR

I'd love to see the top feed kit with a long heavy barrel - if only to see the reaction when it came out of the case on the line!

You might be right, but...

I honestly never saw what all the fuss was about? The XCR isn't that good looking and if I want reliability I'll stick with my Swiss Arms rifles. Frankly, the M96 would be my choice if I was going to pick up a robarm product. Anyone else feel that way?

PE90 cost twice as much as projected XCR price. And even if I wanted to get M96 now, I've heard that their production line has been all converted to concentrate on XCR, and that they aren't making M96 anymore, for time being. Beisdes, I think the attraction of XCR is that it promises things other rifles don't have, mainly barrel change capability and multiple calibre availability. I would like it in either 7.62X39 or .308, as there aren't many black rifle with those calibres being offered in Canada right now. Oops, yes there is VZ/CZ...

i guess you weren't around when the M96 first came out with the same promises.

Taken from ar15.com forums...

My buddy's xcr arrived today and I got to play with it and it felt incredible. I really feel that it combines all of the best features in one rifle. It is reasonably light and extremely well balanced. It points from the shoulder very well and it is no problem to stay on target with one hand.

The controls fall into place nicely and are instinctive to use. It fields strips very easily and has no small parts. According to the owner's manual it has four positions of gas adjustment.

Overall the first impression did not disappoint. I'll get a chance to shoot it next week when I get back from vacation.

I do think that there will be a market for sights made just for the xcr. We put some AR sights on we both fetl that they were a little high. We put a dot scope on with a medium ring and it was perfect. When the rifle gets popular, someone needs to make some lower fixed sights that will co witness with a low mounted optic.

BTW mine is supposed to ship in two weeks.

The more power to anyone who wants one! My next purchase will probably be the SIG/Swiss Arms Carbine rather than an XCR. Once I complete my set, I'll probably finish building the couple of AR-15s projects I've got on the go. I don't know what it is, but I've looked at the website, studied the specs and yet the XCR just doesn't float my boat. I'd probably buy one before I'd buy a SIG 556 (assuming it wasn't prohibited in Canada!) Go figure!:)

I hope Mark at Questar gets the ok on the 10 round ar mags( from the cfc/rcmp)The demand for non-restricted black rifles that take ar-15(Pistol) mags will increase.I would love to have an xcr or an m96 along with a (10 round .223 ) rock river ar pistol mag.

Can you do that?

I was thinking of buying an AR-180B . Would it be legal to use RRA AR-15 pistol mags in it? loaded with 10 rounds?

I would't complain if it were legal, but seriously, our laws make no sense...

Everybody has their own flavor they go after, so I think XCR would be judged accordingly when it DOES arrive in Canada. For myself, I will buy one about a year after it becomes available. What with all the fuss about RobArm being slow with their improvements, I think a year might even be too early to make the purchase... But I want one. If I can't have AR to take with me on those long-range hiking, then I'd be danmed if I wouldn't like an XCR.

I cant wait for the XCR's to come out

ill wait for the 7.62 version myself, i think their going to be a huge hit, a nice rifle to take to the farm

I like that their taking so long though, this way it just gives me more time to save up!!!
