Robarms XCR FAQ post

Lol if only selling the wife was that easy. Then gotta sell all the properties and split up the accounts.

In my case I think I'll just sleep on the couch for a few nights and keep everything now! !!

Im just swapping my keyhole upper for a quadrail upper with another CGN member.Dave
Good idea, so the only difference between the quad rail upper and keymod upper is how you attach accessories? If you were to remove the rails , off the quad upper they would be the same, weight ? I was just planning on using 2 3 1/2 inch rails , end on to each other.

The new XCR Ls have a new XCR M style bolt. The Buffer is attached to the carrier not at the back of the receiver.Dave

I wonder if all the developments on the XCR are going to make parts ordering and maintenance a nightmare.

"I'd like to order part x 2 y's"

"For part x, please choose from the following 27 options)
"For part y, Im afraid we no longer make those models"

Well finaly, my XCR-l left Winnipeg yesterday , should have her in about 10 days :). So , breakin says 400 rnds, would it be ok to do this in one day, and does it matter how fast I put the 400 through it? Should pull a bore snake through every so many? Thanks..... Brian

Got her sooner than expected, gonna break her in tomorrow. In the manual it says to depress the gas valve detent with a bullit tip and adjust the gas setting with another bullit tip. I can do all this with my fingers though, am I missing something? Has there been a upgrade or is it just cooler to use 2 bullits? I have a keymod heavy barrel.

Where can one buy keymod rail sections for their XCR-L? I've found them on a number of american sites, but so far haven't found any in stock in Canada.

Is there anywhere you can get a VFG that fits directly to the keymod? Like this guy

image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgFirst time out, started at setting 3, after 2 mags moved down to setting 2 and that's where she stayed for the better part of 300 rnds. Tryed setting 1 for 2 mags and had 2 stovepipes( the casing didn't fully eject). So 300 rnds and 2 stovepipes on setting 1. The S&J linear comp is so quiet compared to the ironeagle one, I had on my SU 16. Almost sounded like psssst! Nothing came loose after doing a few mag dumps..:) I took a few pics of groups I got and I gotta give it up to the precision shooters, it takes a lot of patience . I was using Hornady superformance 53g,Hornady Zombie 55g,rem supersonic 62g, nosler varmageddon 55g, and A.E FMJ. Hornady superformance was the best at 0.981 1.054 0.956 (5 shot groups. Hornady zombie was 1.589..nosler was 1.047.. A.E best was 1.340 and 1.880. Keep in mind I'm no precision shooter and these were shot fairly quick, using a 2x7x33 scope and crappy led sled. 1.1/2 groups are average with the AE crap. My XCR can shoot under an inch , easy with the Hornady Superformance, and I'll put money on that . If somebody wanted to use a better scope and bench and knew what they were doing , they should be able to shrink that up a bit. I'm satisfied and happy with this rig. Sorry for the crappy iPhone pics, not much into the measuring thing, but thought I'd try it.

image.jpg here's what I wrote on paper. Everything was at 100 yards. Is it ok to run on setting 2 or should I aim for setting 1 ? And when should I strip her completely down for a cleaning?

You need to run it on the gas setting that throws the brass 8-10 ft. Mine hasnt left setting 2 in 1000 rounds. Cleaning is up to you but I would clean it after break in. Your going to find brass shavings in the magwell and bolt as things wear together. The gas tube should have some grime on it too. Did you run the bolt wet during break in?

it was throwing the brass from 10 to 20 feet on setting 2, and yes iwa running it wet. She ran very smooth. I guess I'll tear her down, and give her a good cleaning. Not looking forward to that though, the only rifle I tore down was a 1022.
