Robarms XCR FAQ post

Yep the best upgrade i made was the dlask adapter and a magpul ctr. I do miss the folding for storage but that is second to a better shooting setup

I used a castle nut on mine. Peace of mind. Leaving it all to the set screw in the dlask adapter just doesnt seem like enough to me. They come with the tube so why not?

I didn't get one with mine, it came like this from wolverine .so I thought you wouldn't need it. If it comes with it , wouldn't hurt to use it. But I have about a 1000 rnds through and no issues with the stock and adapter yet.

You have a 1000 rounds thro yours already?!?! NICE! You dont waste any time, i have about 1500, bought mine a year ago last aug

I usually take a couple hundre rnds to the range, but I can also walk about 300 yards from my house and let her rip. I've been busy making cartridges the last few wks ( just got a new reloading kit). It's addicting , just watching the ammo bxs fill up. I finally got my rail covers or rail cover from Rainier arms ( they short shipped me one pack). Lol . They're a good fit. I thought you purchased your rifle this past august?

LMAO ya this past aug (more like june) I was thinking of when i ordered the su16 ha ha ha. Yeah id love to get into reloading. Saving all my brass fir it. Love the rails i got from you there perfect. Post up pics of yours id like to see them

As I thought, conflicting opinions. I've seen quite a few pictures of them installed without the castle nut but it didn't make any sense to me. Just got off the phone with Dlask, response was literally "of course you do".

I had my CTR stock and adapter , installed by wolverine , no castle nut came with it. I used some blue lock tite on the set screw and it's never came loose. Just curious, what would keep the castle nut from backing off? From looking at mine , I don't see what a castle nut would even lock on to.

image.jpgFinally got half my rail cover set, here's a pic of one side anyway ... Lol . Real nice feel to it though.

Ya that smoothes it out nice!

The castle nut acts just like a jam nut. Think of the tie rods on your car. The jam nut locks the tie rod so it cannot turn.

Ok , got it. Maybe Wolverine will give me a castlenut . :) .... But , really it don't matter as I'm having no issues without it. It would cover up some thread though. The covers are nice , and being there made of plastic = light.

Here is what it looks like, one thread showing. My cheap chinese tube has flat grooves after the threads tho :(
