Robarms XCR FAQ post

Just got my 7.62X39 barrel, bolt, buffer and a bunch of mags. from Wolverine! Can't wait to try it out!!! I love the 5.56 set-up now, but wanted another option for cheap ammo and to be able to deer hunt with it this fall!!!

Ian

Is there surplus soft point? Do you hunt with FMJ?

No, I don't. I use Fusion in the XCR, or step up to a big boy rifle for hunting.
The XCR is a shooters rifle that can be used for hunting. Smitsauce said "and hunting".
I wouldn't feed a steady diet of soft point for shooting, because I need 1 round per year for hunting.

My comment was based on the XCR being built for shooters. ;)

I hope that makes more sense.

It really is a pleasure to shoot and I also use it for coyote calling and I use the 6.8 SPC barrel for deer.

Anyone run the .50 beowulf CPD mags. These are the stainless steel ones. How do they run and fit inside your xcr magwell? The PCV ones are a bit tight and I had to do some sanding down on them for them to drop freely. Was thinking about grabbing the CPD steel ones.

Where exactly did you do the sanding on the PCV to get a good drop-free? I've never sanded a mag down so I'd like to have an idea as to not bust the thing by accident.

On the PCV ones I sanded down the spine and the little grooves up top that secure the cartridge. But mostly along the spine and the edges. The mag drops wonderfully now.

Yo men. If I want to install a Magpul CTR stock on my XCR what parts or adapters do I need and which website sells these items? Thanks.

Hey guys. Was considering buying a XCR-L light barrel quad rail in 223 here on the EE. I have read tons of problems and QQ issues with the older ones. Not sure if this model or the rifle in general should be purchased.

Any help would be appreciated.

If it has an enhanced aka two stage trigger, it's most likely a newer yet older model circa 2012. Before this I've heard of various issues , but noting too major. Check with Wolverine on older model warranty.

i just picked up an older xcr heavy barrel in 5.56 (ser#xl01...) from the EE.
2 stage trigger & wrench friendly gas block.
that thing is awesome.
over 200 rounds last weekend without a hiccup.
groups inside a loonie at 50 m with a 4x vortex pst.
'vallee' sure took care of stuff, rifle was bang on right out of the box.
i'm a new believer in the xcr...

Model /Type number is important in determining older model ves newer model prograssion. Especially WRT balance, weight and what barrel, bolt kit, etc to order to go from 556 to 7.62 39, or 6.8spc and vice.
This may help.
