Robarms XCR FAQ post

The LAR 10 round mag was designed for a pistol. The mag was not designed for rifles and pistols but happens to fit both.

I do suggest printing RCMP special bulletin 72, read it and know it, and carry it with you.

You're good to go.

Enjoy the new rifle.

I looked through the XCR Manual and I can't find a parts schematic.

Anyone know where to find one of those?

Reason I am asking is that my folding stock has excessive amount of wobble in it. Terribly annoying.

I read through the user manual and found the part that refers to adjusting the folding stock.

It appears that I have lost the adjusting screw that compensates for stock wobble.

Does anyone know the part number for that screw? Or the specs for it so I can find one to replace it?

Howdy guys!

It is starting to look like I have been scammed on the used XCR........

I ordered a new one from Wolverine last week and it got here today.
I didn't necessarily want "Canadian Camo" but I did want a heavy barrel and that is the color they had in stock.

Can't wait to get it out and run a few rounds thru it !! :)
Hopefully Thursday if I can get caught up at work......

Question .... I want to put a grip on the bottom but I can't figure out for sure what rails I need for the key mod.
Wolverine has some "key mod rail sections" ... these ones http://www.wolverinesupplies.com/details/16129/Midwest-Industries-Key-Mod-Rail-Section-375.aspx
Is that what I need? What about something longer?

Thanks

Excuse my stupid question, but how can you tell the difference between the old xcr trigger and the new one? I know the answer is on here somewhere but I really don't want to dig through a few hundred posts.
Any help would be greatly appreciated from this super noob. lol
if you pull the trigger and think the safety is on until the gun goes off, you have the old style.

I think the old trigger was known for having trigger slap.
zreturns nailed it about trigger slap. lower gas setting=much more comfortable,.

Just a quick question that may have been answered already but I am not going through all 138 pages of this thread to find it. Is anyone running their gas system on S and is there any problem with this if the gun cycles fine?

If it's ejecting ~10ft on setting S then the gas port might be a bit big, but if its running fine, then its running fine, no?

Just don't move it up to setting 4 if its kicking the brass out on S.

Awesome thx!!
You're welcome! :)

I run mine on Level 1 and it works great and send the brass at 15 to 20 feet.

Running on the "S" setting is for XCRs fitted with suppressors and shooting with a subsonic load (Fortunately for our southern neighbors).
Running on "S" completely eliminates any and all "blow-back" when using a suppressor.

XCR has four gas ports, each looks to be about 75% the size of the next larger port.
The #1 port looks like it is 75% the size of #2. #2 looks to be 75% the size of #3 and so on.

The smallest or #1 port is for the highest pressure ammo you intend to use and the largest or #4 port is for ammo with the least ammount of pressure.

The difference with the new gas valve is that the #1 port looks like it is only 40% the size of the #2 port which would be a 35% size reduction over the original Gas Valve.
With the original Gas Valve it has a sizable amount of gas blow-back coming from the upper to lower joint with a greater concentration coming from the upper receiver lock and charging handle.

Felt recoil is greatly deminished on the #1 setting and almost feels like shooting a .17HMR or .22 magnum.

Ok thanks. I put it on S thinking that was single shot and was quite confused when it was kicking the brass out like normal (around 7 to 8 ft) I have since then went through the owners manual again to figure out where single shot is but didn't know if I should keep running it on S.

This is with 36 grain varmint grenades running about 2700 fps.

To close the gas port completely (to make it run like a bolt action rifle / single shot), you have to turn the gas knob between 4 and S and check if the plug doesn't get out by hand.
Because if you put it in the space between the 1 and 2, it's to take the plug out and if you shoot the rifle that way, you'll send the plug downrange, losing it forever!

Here it is on level 2 setting:
