Robarms XCR FAQ post

Soooooooooo... Anyone else out there having problems with czech surplus and thier XCR?
I bought one of the newest manufacture XCR's and put about 300 rounds through it today. I was lucky if i was able to get 3 rounds without a failiure to eject, failiure to feed, or jammed case in the chamber. I know these can have a significant break in period.. an it's recommended to use "hot ammo" for the first 200-500 rounds. I haven't yet tried different ammo, and only have the one mag for now... just wondering if anyone else has had problems.

Other than that... these rifles are sweet. Surprisingly accurate with surplus.

Mine had to have the chamber polished by Wolverine Supplies.

Question for folks that have 7.62x39 kit for the XCR....

Once in a blue moon after shooting 5 rounds from the mag, the bolt on my XCR is not held open after the last shot. For example, the other day it happened 3 times over the course of shooting 100 rounds.

Should I be concerned? Any sort of troubleshooting tips anyone has?

XCR is about a year old, maybe 600 rounds through it, Czech S&B milsurp ammo, standard C-Products 5 round mags (one coil snipped off the bottom of the mag spring, so 5th round would actually fit, but no other modifications).

Are there any other STANAG compatible mags for 7.62x39 besides the C-Products 5/10 rounders that can be found Canada?

Normally it's not a huge deal if there would be some sort of consistency to it. But there, as far as I can tell, isn't any sort of consistency - ie happens with different mags, that normally hold the bolt open, but every once in a while they would not.

I recently had a near call with a different firearm and some commercially re-loaded ammo where I loaded a round, but had to make a firearm safe for a target change, and extractor ejected just the casing, leaving the actual bullet in the chamber and spewing powder all over the trigger group, so I now get very easily spooked by any sort of behavior inconsistencies in the firearms.

I was shooting cZech surplus at the range yesterday in my 858 as was the fellow next to me and about 5 others ( popular gun in vancouver ;) ), anyhow I had to wait 2 hours for a bench and watched almost every shooter have a failure of some sort... Manny ftf and fte's... The fellow next to me had a round jam in the chamber so hard he couldn't even hammer the round out from the barrel side with a cleaning rod by pounding it on the ground...

It's the ammo... I'll shoot 400 rounds with maybe 1-2 bad rounds then i go out and it seems like one in every box is screwed...

My xcr ran smooth as glass with ae.223 fmjbt

WOOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOw:h:

It's working %100 now and these are FUUUUUNNNNNNNNN!

Last night i snipped a couple coils off the mag spring so it'll actually hold 5 rounds, and oiled the crap out of the mag. Took it out to shoot again and somewhere aroung the 350 round point it started to work flawlessly. Now have 600 rounds through it and it's running like a top with surplus. Guess it just needed to be broken in.
Thanks for everyones input.

Hello All!
I am from the US. I found out about this site on opencarry.org in the canada forums. I go to Vancouver BC usually twice a month so thought I would check it out. I was not aware that you could have scarry black rifles w/ high cap mags (normal cap mags) in Canada. This is a nice surprise. Can someone enlighten me on the gun laws in CA.

We can't have scary black rifles with normal cap mags.. Unless 5 is normal for you... There is one type of specifically marked 10 round pistol mag we are allowed that happens to be AR compatible but that is just becuase the law is a little strange..

The laws can be found in a bunch of places.. start with the RCMP -CFC website..

XCR 7.62x39 mags

Hey guys i really need some mags (7.62x39) for my xcr but nobody has them... Who sells them in Canada??? Thanks

Hey wondering if you can swap out the trigger guard on the XCR like you can with an AR? will any AR trigger guard fit if you can? waiting on mine and in the mean time ordering parts to upgrade and customize haha

I was sighting my xcr in yesterday with my 9x3 scope,....I had no malfunctions, but noticed all my brass was banged in at one spot on the lip,..anyone know why?

The cases are ejected out of the XCR pretty violently. I run my gas setting at 2 for normal range use. The vast majority of my brass comes out unscathed on that setting.
