Roll sizer - Group Buy - GOAL ACHIEVED

Didn't get much movement in the last week of so, I have been chatting with as many people as I could at the range and also send emails to brass processing companies. They all have roll sizing machines already and don't need this one.

So make sure you bring it up with the people you shoot with! Just need to say :

Hey have you heard of roll sizing machines? There is a deal going on on CGN now, direct them to here and if they do not have an account you can send them to my email. Simple.

This will probably never happen again. Roll sizing isn't as popular because of the lack of knowledge revolving around reloading! But they are highly recommended to create ammo to spec!
Here is some food for thought:

Did you know that your regular sizing dies are all undersized?
Did you know that the hourglass shape in brass isn't actually a 'feature' as it has been sold to the industry throughout the last few decades.

Don't believe me? Talk to the people at Mighty Armory (producers of high quality dies for auto loading machines)

In a nutshell, reloading with undersized brass is easier: reduces the headaches and makes reloading simpler allowing for more human error i.e. allows for more tolerance difference.
What most people don't really understand is the trade offs... because, simply put, we never needed to but like everything in life, hindsight is 20/20.

If you are not sure or believe Dillon's motto : we undersize because it adds neck tension and it is better, then, guess what... you have some chatting to do with the big minds at Mighty Armory to understand more about reloading.

For those who are reading this for the first time and are starting at the last thread. THIS GROUP BUY IS STILL ON!

We need 5 more people!

LOL... hourglass shaped brass. So many reloading pistol shooters think it OK.

Most serious reloaders have observed the significant velocity variations of their loads and have come to peace with it rather than trying to fix it. Wake up time: press variations ( mostly powder measure) is not the sole contributor of the issue.

All else being equal, a smaller volume (bottle shaped and undersized range brass) directly contributes to higher pressure, which in turn directly translates to higher velocity. Other variations will add to loads inconsistencies and further widen data distribution. In competition, we hate load variations because it affect the pistol's behavior and shot placement. Top shooters have learned to adjust for it. Average shooters like me did not. Because we do not shoot 1000 rounds per day, we look for every little things that will help placing bullets where we want them on targets. And no jams from the rounds that omitted the trip to the case gauge...

A roll sizer is a solution allowing to reliably address the oversized circumference found at the base of fired/range brass. The tool is very practical for those processing high volume of brass.

I have buddies with buckets full of brass awaiting for my setup to be running. Because they are not cheap skates, I know they will chip in something. Not asking for anything but their friendship, their fun help and the beer always make it worthwhile.

Thank you again Avenida for driving this cost saving opportunity.

Happy Holidays to all.

Thanks I appreciate that! And my pleasure

On another note, the commercial machine will go up in price about $180 US.

For those wanting the commercial like yourself and I, yes, it is a better deal to go ahead now.
That is unfortunate.

What do you guys think?

Seal the deal on Dec. 31st?
Saving becomes marginal if we wait further for 10 players.
Your thoughts?

Received.

This order look like it is closing next week. There are some updates related to shipping, and payment related.

More information to be released soon!

There has been some solid interest in this order after I had the opportunity of meeting the owner of rollsizer last weekend.
Final amount of machines is yet to be confirmed as I am waiting from 4 people on this thread.

If you are following this and on the fence, this pre order will be closing soon, we estimate 1 more week at the latest, after that it closes, and you most likely gonna miss the boat (literally)

Thanks

Quick note to all interested buyers.

Avenida and I are joining strengths to make this happen.

Lets introduce myself as a buyer for 5 machines. Also as owner of an Import/Export Company.

As such I offered Avenida my assistance pro bono to see this project through. Teaming up will likely allow all to achieve the expected procurement discount. We met recently and have been communicating daily since. Details and procedure are being discussed with the Vendor and terms should be mutually agreed next week.

On the critical path is for the potential buyers to formalize their intentions to Avenida at the earliest convenience. The train is rolling by and will likely be gone by end of next week.
To be confirmed, a shopping list may be requested in upcoming days: shipment configuration, total weight and volume are required for freight quotations.

Avenida is the contact person. PM him directly if any question.

For background, Avenida and I are both well known and active in our respective IPSC sections (ON & QC). Our respective reputation on CGN should warrant we are not scammers but respectable gunners positively contributing to our community.

**** Update ****

We are at 8 confirmed machines!!!

There are 2 people who are on this thread, who are yet to formalize interest, and 3rd one whom I spoke with over the phone today (also on this list) who is on the fence.

This order group depends on these 3 people for the 25 % off to apply.

We need 2 more machines.

**** 2nd Update *****

For buyers on the fence due to taxes differences in between provinces, we have a solution for charging you your corresponding provincial tax instead of Ontario or Quebec tax.
Contact by PM please.

**** 3rd update ****

I have 9 machines confirmed.
The importer, who is also a shooter on this thread is helping with importation pro bono.
This would not be possible without his generosity.

Organizing this order has proven to be a very laborious and time consuming task.
There are countless hours of correspondence in between all parties involved.
This is a huge undertaking.

We need one more machine! Let’s make it make it happen.

Either way this group order will close this week as there is a small group ready to move forward even at a lesser discount.

goal achieved

Those who want to jump in have time until Friday. After that, ordering is closed and au-revoir.

Got a commercial unit and love it. Several ten of thousands cases went through it so far in most pistol and revolver calibers.

High round count shooters who bought the mini unit regret not going for the commercial unit.

I definitely recommend it.

Yes, I know this is an old thread.

As someone thinking of purchasing a roll sizer I am on the fence about the Mini DC version and the commercial - sounds like the consensus is that the commercial is worth the extra - I am curious where the commercial shines / where the mini is lacking in comparison to each other.

It about volume I would say.

Say you are an IPSC shooter consuming an average of 1000 rounds/month.
Your question is a bit like reloading that round count on a single stage press versus a progressive press. That kind of difference.

Your round count is probably your most important decision factor.

The commercial shines on reliability and volume.
From friends who got a MiniDC, a couple had to get a replacement motor. One gave up early on its life and he got a warranty replacement., the other one had a few good years (3 o 4) and started vibrating, got noisy and was overheating. I believe he got a discounted unit.

Thanks for the info.

I was leaning towards the DC Mini but this has got me thinking. I will see what deals come down the pipe on Black Friday.
