Ross Rifle myths and realities

I have had experiences with my Remington 722 when neck-sized cases were a bit of a snug fit, but chambered OK and when fired would not extract. With a Remington recessed bolt head with clip in extractor, this resulted in an extractor pulled through the cartridge "rim" and the cartridge stuck in chamber. Although the Ross has a much wider extractor, I can well imagine the straight pull bolt would be unable to start a stuck cartridge.
