Rossi lever

And I have no idea who you are either but for the record, in the mid 70's I spent a lot of time riding in the grazing reserves with a 44 mag M-29 in my saddle bag, and I shot it almost daily. I also shot a 38 special quite a bit in those days so I was aware that it was a police round!
Now that we know each other a bit better, maybe we can drop the rude and condescending remarks.

Go back and re-read everything I posted and then look at your responses and see who is having difficulty with their reading comprehension and resorting to a rude and agressive attitude.

You said the Mare's leg was difficult to shoot beyond a few feet and I took acceptation and asked some rather simple questions such as what caliber were you shooting and what technique were you using? You've yet to answer those rather basic questions and instead have gotten your panties in a twist.(that was rude and condescending)

I extended a few olive branches and you've been a stubborn mule. You may be my senior in age but it seems you have some emotional growing up to do.

Take it easy.

NO, actually you were trying to razz me but your going to have to do better than that. I suspect that I was shooting 44 mags long before you were even conceived so don't say condescending things to me such as I should work my way up to a .38 special.

You have some real issues. i can see how you got offended so easily; you seem full of yourself.

For everyone else's sake, please stop as there is some very useful information being posted and I don't want the thread to be closed.

I spoke to Rossi directly 2 months ago because of the same misinformation that has been coming from several dealers.
There answer to me was that they are so far behind in production and orders they just haven't been able to catch up. They are however expecting to send mass shipments to Canada and the US in the Summer months (is their hopes).

Obviously with each year models will come and models will go, but they are far from out of business. Hope this helps

Well that's good news, hopefully they will also send up some spare parts kit to their Canadian warranty center! The first Ranchhand I picked up years ago had a broken fore end screw out of the box and it took about 6 months to get a replacement.

I have several Mares Leg type rifles.

Rossi and Chiappa in 357, 44, 45

1st of all they R what they R
A 12in barreled oddly stocked pistol caliber lever action “weapon”
They pretty much defy classification.
Reproduced as a romantic cowboy novelty for the US market.

For Canadians they oddly escaped scrutiny and allowed import as unrestricted.
This fact alone made them appealing as the closest thing to a pistol we van carry/plink/defend with.
As pointed out the mares leg stock is difficult to shoot well but a experienced handgunner can easily make hits with it at reasonable range

The beauty of them is mounting a full stock turns them back into what they are derived from....a short great carrying/handling lever in a stout pistol caliber

A novelty in mares leg form
Makes a base for a very effective ultra compact lever rifle
Swap out or mod the silly huge lever and a full size but short lop stock and its a great lil rifle

They R what they R
They pack and carry SO much nicer than a shotgun .....
Enjoy the fact the facists goofed on restricting them and have fun
Hell buy one just to piss off a liberal

Hecklin and beatin on one another over them is silly
They are a great option for CANADA.....
Id prolly pass other than maybe one as a novelty IF pistols werent restricted.....but they R

Cheers all

Well put amigo.

You've lost me on the Richard thing. So how do you react when some one says something insulting to you?

You took a conversation as an insult where it wasn't and then went on about the literary skills... clearly turning the conversation to insults. Which is a shame, I don't want to see this thread get locked down for it all... I am a fan of the Rossi lever guns and ranch hands.

FYI to others that stumble into this thread... mine was just $600 brand new and worked perfectly out of the box. The Canadian Tire store mine came from even still has another 45 colt in their rack.
