Rossi Puma .44 Mag

To all the deformed hands;

Finally got access to some Large Loop Rossi Levers. They should be arriving from a company in the States in 7 days. They are all blued (sorry stainless guys) and from what I'm told fit all Rossi Puma 1892 models. I'm not sure how difficult they are to install or if a Smith is needed or not, but I'll give it a go and post some flying instructions online when I figure it out...Has anyone ever swapped out their levers?? Let me know how difficult it is....

Anyways Ive only have 9, well 8 cause one is mine:D They will be $118 after all the shipping and importing B.S. from the States...

Keep ya posted....

Cheers,

Wow!

Finally! I'm glad to see that someone is able to bring the large loops in. Here are a few of mine:

I brought in a bunch of loops back about 5 years ago, and had them installed for me. (Some minor fitting required.) All of the "round loop" carbines are Pumas (the older models without the safety on top.)

The "skeletonized" piece is my Winchester 94 in 30-30. (I brought in a bunch of loops for the 94's as well, and currently have a pair of them with the loops installed.)

The one thing I really like about the Pumas are that the actions are tight and very smooth that you could easily do the "Chuck Connors" thing without the carbine flopping around in your hands. Not that I'll admit to doing it... ;)

Please post how the new loops fit. I am curious as to whether Puma changed anything with their new rifles.

Take care!

if it's a fully machined piece , ready to drop in , it is super easy to replace .

Gary, I'm new to lever rifles... but does the 16" 357/38spl come in an octagon bbl?

John

Hey John,

No problem...Rossi has Octogonal barrels for 20" and 24" only. They don't offer any 16" Octo barrels in any caliber. Mainly because with the shorter barrels you don't need the reinforcement or heavy barrel aspect. I've seen some Henry levers with 18" Octo barrels in .22magnum but thats about it...

Cheers,

Gary

Thanks for the info Gary.
I'm interested in either a .38\.357 16" round bbl or .38\.357 20" octagon bbl.
Do you have either in stock blued?

John

Hey John,

I have a few 20" .357 coming in early August....That will be the last of the Rossi's at old pricing. From what I hear they could be $150-200 more!!!! That hurts....I'll post when they arrive...

Is this price for the standard Bounty hunter and if so, are you able to bring in the takedown version as well? Price?

Yeah, thats for the Chiappa Bounty Hunter Model...the take down version is not available yet, but they say there are some different calibers/models coming down the pike in late, late fall. He thinks a 45/70 cal will be next...

These .45's are to be shipped to me in September...

the Chiappa Mare's leg is non-restricted??

Please help me understand how a firearm with a total length under 26 inches is non-restricted.

I'm looking to buy the 44 caliber version.

regards,

GJ

What does this implication mean for those who want .44 MAg? Are the .44's enroute in Nov as per previous, or is this our best/only bet on these? I have zero interest in a .45LC other than for the rifle itself, and only really want one in .44Mag. But if .44 aint available...might have to consider my options.
