Rossi Ranch Hand full-size stock G/B ~ UPDATE - Feb 15/2013

I bought a "mare's leg" because I wanted to hunt with a "mare's leg".
So I do not want to add a full butt stock to it and change it into a short barrelled carbine.

So what you're saying is, your post was absolutely useless ???

BTW, I'll still own a "Ranch Hand" after I put a full-size stock on it...

;)

Just got off the phone with "the guy" at O/L/S. More people need to commit...

Send him your gun, OR then send him $ when he's finished. Simple.

And please don't overwhelm the guy with requests, you wouldn't do that with any other retailer or manufacturer.

* ANY REQUESTS OUTSIDE OF AN UNFINISHED (no laquer or stain) ROSSI STOCK SET (no butt plate either), WILL COST EXTRA !

No, you don't HAVE to send him your gun.

I am because he needs it for a template, he has no Rossi R92 stocks to go from.

But minor fitting issues upon receiving the set would be your own responsibility...

;)

Order is no where near finished, but as per Opuntia Lake Sports... PM'd you though.

I would like deposits in by Sept 1st, and will do the run first or second week of Sept.

As for butt-plates/pads... I'm looking into the Pachmyer F325b, ~$30.

Wonder where a guy could find a butt plate

I put a nice "olde type" crescent butt plate on my Henry Mares Leg that I put a full length stock on. Looks really cool, adds to the period look. Got mine from Brownells.

Also put on a flip up tang sight (Marbles) so that even with a 12" barrel, I still have a 18" (or thereabouts) sight radius. That gives up nothing when it comes to accuracy and makes a handy carbine.

I know mine is just a Henry rimfire, but its what I can afford.

In its regular Mares Leg configuration it is a lot of fun, but kinda useless. Add a real buttstock to it and you have a supper handy bush carbine. With the Rossi in chamberings like .44 Magnum you have a viable big game gun.

I just want a regular butt-plate (definitely not crescent.)
How do I find one that will fit?

Talk to Rich @ Opuntia... There are "pre-fit" pads, then there's "grind-to-fit".

G-t-F pads are going to be the most desirable, as these will be "custom" stocks & not a factory-made unit...

;)

* Nice Henry, Surfclod !!! Looks amazing.
