So that being said. This rifle should be unlimited capacity. Is this right?

Depends on whether they say the RPD is of pre 1946 design, or later. The full name is RPD Model 1944.

Wiki says this...

Work on the weapon commenced in 1943. Three prominent Soviet engineers were asked to submit their own designs: Vasily Degtyaryov, Sergei Simonov and Alexei Sudayev. Among the completed prototypes prepared for evaluation, the Degtyaryov design proved superior and was accepted into service with the Soviet armed forces as the 7.62 mm Ручной Пулемёт Дегтярёва, PПД (RPD, Ruchnoy Pulemyot Degtyaryova or "Degtyaryov light machine gun") model 1944. Although the RPD was ready for mass production during the final stages of World War II, large scale delivery of the weapon did not begin until 1953.[1] During the Vietnam War, the RPD served the Vietcong as their standard light machine gun.

Well I ordered one, now we wait and see what happens! (yes I am weak, would hate to be on the outside looking in). This would be one of the coolest guns to make it into the country since the Communists prohibited the last batch. I was thinking about getting a Valmet anyways, this would be more fun to shoot! Fortunately I have crates of ammo ready to go!

Seems like quite a few ordered so hopefully it is worthwhile for them to pursue. I am going to take it up to the range on a Saturday if and when it shows up just to give the Fudds a mental breakdown!

I took a chance and placed an order as well. Keeping my fingers crossed that Walt will make fools of the naysayers. :)
