Rpd Lmg

ya thats a whole other thing IF they used ANY of the orig reciever the RCMP class it right away as a converted auto

if its a newly made purpose built for semi auto thats ok

(or a FA reciever that NEVER had the FA parts installed is also ok provided thier is proof of that (the colt ro634 9mm smgs are one example)

as well as a few c7's in civie hands

Its like a bunch of childern made our entire firearms ACT, its pathetic.

while considering they control what gets approved or not or delayed for years...... id say they DO!

Last time I checked the courts were still the final arbiter of the laws of this country. Get an official ruling by the RCMP and then take them to court. The law is pretty expicit on this issue, should be an easy win for our side.

sure send me your truck loads of cash as the federal gov has UNLIMITED $$$ to drag it out for years and years and even if you won would likely appeal and go on for more years

you might win but it would take VERY VERY deep pockets!

Ive been dealing with the rcmp firearms techs for allmost 2 years on a project of mine with NO end in sight

With a non-disintegrating belt, I wonder if it would be acceptable if every 6th position were made unserviceable? Fire five, ####, fire five....
If a dewat had a moving action, some parts could be harvested, but they would be expensive, given what a dewat might cost.

I'll be called to the bar in a year, I'll represent you for free then... seriously.

That might just work actually. Either crimp every 6 links, or use a permantly fixed dummy round in each 6th link.

A fixed dummy would jam the gun. If the cartridge retaining tabs were trimmed, it might be only necessary to tug the belt to position a round and #### the gun. I have no idea if this would work, or be approved. Given that it is unlikely that these guns will be available here, the question is academic.

I'm still optimistic about semi-auto RPD making their way to canada. I once thought that there were no semi-auto only MP38s, but I was later proven wrong.
