But they do have our money regardless. And so we wait......
The money they have isn't being used to bring in DSA versions... it is the other version that currently sits at a Project Guns shop.

And are the last of the chrome lined barrels![]()
It would be a different manufacturer. Any change in manufacture, make or model results in a new parent frt. Change in barrel length, Calibre or capacity creates a new child number added to the parent entry.
thats odd. so if you own the production rights that doesn't mean that you are the maker? norinco comes to mind with many different factories making guns under the same FRT.
johns deal is pointless if thats the case. (post #29)

There are several chinese sks frt entries, each noting different factory markings, as an example. And many more for m305 types.
With AR15 rifles, Colt has numerous frt entries. An ar15a2 and ar15a2 have different frt entries. The sa20 and sa15.7 have different frt entries even thought the lowers are identical.
The frt is an encyclopaedia of guns. Not a classification system.
Not sure what you mean by johns deal.
do you have access to FRT entries? the fact that they dont make them public knowledge (other than ease of conversion) is ridiculous.
I do. And yes, it is. But they are in it for the money. They sell the information abroad. Should be public.
what do you mean they sell the information? who would buy it? other police agency without labs of their own? (that would be a pretty weak police force)
Internationally. Inter agency. Whoever is looking to buy that the rcmp sees fit to sell it to.
Like I said, it is an encyclopaedia of gun information.
Plenty of other threads dedicated to how the frt is set up. Let's leave this thread to the rpd Arms East is selling.
ok thanks.
its been around 2.5 years at the lab now (i think). hopefully not too much longer to wait. it must be killing you guys.

So, what receiver brand is in the lab right now?
Was always in for the long haul.
Waiting for the RPD, and the Type 81, and the KM Arms M17s556, and so on and so on. Part of the game.
Ain't much of a game getting jerked around by government types and dealer alike. Both give about as much information as the other. Both got your money, directly or through tax.
At least they are in climate controlled storage...
