Would marstar or someone else be interested in importing those semi rpd's that are for sale in the states.
It is a long way away from a ak receiver.. totally different locking system.
If the atf can pass it as a semi, it should have no problem passing the canadian tests..

cheap

it would be cheap to shoot, as 7.62x39 is easy to find and reasonable to buy. You do not need to spend a bunch of extra money for a tripod either.
I think that I will have to start saving my pennies.

Since it was developed in '44 the restriction on 5 round capacity would not apply provided the prototype is counted as a production model,if not then it will be limited to 5 rounds at a time, which makes the whole point of one moot.

"...If the atf can pass it as a semi, it should have no problem passing the Canadian tests..." What the ATF says, passes or approves of is irrelevant here. I'd bet the CFC would take one look at it and declare it evil.

Ah - that sounds about right ;) Otherwise you would have to recock the gun every time you fire a blank because the gas wont push back the piston... there should be a similar device for the AK.

Cheers,
Alex

RPD as a prototype should be fine. The law does not say "in development" it says "in existence":
Part 4 3.(2)(f) is of the "belt" type consisting of a fabric or metal belt, is not a reproduction and was originally designed or manufactured for the purpose of feeding cartridges into a automatic firearm of a type that was in existence before 1945.

To me this suggests that x infintity linked 7.62 is fine..:p

5 rounds limit "bypassed" ?

You mean that my 71 rounds PPSh41 WOULD have been legal in its original 71 rounds configuration?
