So all those dewat AK's another dealer has brought in were brought in as real Ak's. A gun that is probably as prohibited as an RPG. I find that hard to believe but if it's true that dealer is the guy chemist needs to talk to then.

An RPG is a different category than a firearm under 20mm. Actually firearms under 20mm (if I remember correctly) are not controlled goods anymore.

Anything deactivated comes in considered as real. Thus you need to import authority to import a real rpg. Then once the import clears they determine if it is dewat.

Hence why dewats aren't flooding into canada regularly.

Almost correct, any CG material as well as many types of firearms are considered "live" for purposes of import.... The determination IS made after landing, however it depends a great deal on the licensed importer on how quickly, if at all, the determination is accepted....

Yup. They were. Marstar imports prohibs all the time. Part of their business licence.

Business licence can include dealing in prohibs. Not always. Depends on the business licence.

We are also a licensed manufacturer, licensed for supplying LE, Military, as well as the motion picture industry....

However many of the above prescribed purposes are further divided into sub categories....

All this to say you can do almost anything if you can justify your request to the CFO of your province.

In our case the CFO has been most helpful over the years in assisting us. Take the time to explain what you want to do, how you want to do your project, what contracts you have etc, etc....

Well there comes my positive thinking member....

It is always a treat to read your support and fully informed opinion....

Now that you have reopened this case lets be clear, yes in 1985 we were raided by Canada Customs, RCMP, OPP, a TRU TEAM, A SWAT TEAM, and yes a helicopter.... All under the orders of the (at the time) justice Minister.... The plan was to cause a shoot out with our people....

And yes we were cleared of everything.... After only almost 3 years and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ of legal fees....

For those who think it can't happen to you, think again

A "TRU team" and a "SWAT team"... ?

Lemme, guess... they were armed with guns and firearms? :d

I thought that even businesses couldn't import prohibited firearms unless specifically for sale to law enforcement/gov't agencies?

Isn't there something about that.... no new prohibited firearms can be imported? Or is that specifically stated for private owners only? I was under the distinct impression that NO new prohibited firearms could be imported unless for sale to uncle samantha (yes, "he's" a tranny)

Businesses can import them for their own use if part of their business.

Example: Firearms training company who train government/law enforcement. They can be permitted to posses unpinned mags and suppressors.

Just one example.
