Its sad to suggest this but it could be time for trail cams hidden in bird houses around your cottage or video surveillence.
Trail am photos have worked for others catching people stealing gas ect.
A couple weeks ago a guy came to the door and asked if i wanted to recycle any car batteries. I said no. He asked me what i was doing with them ?i said with what ? He says all the batteries beside the garage and around the back.
I said how the f!?k do you know how many i have .he said "i saw them when i pulled in your driveway the other day nobody was here.
I said well that may explain seeing some by the garage but not around the back.
I asked him if he had fun casing my house ? He said he wasnt or being s snoopy !
I pulled out my cell phone and snapped a pic of licence plate. He said " what you going to do with that run to the cops "? No just keep it till some of my stuff goes missing then ill be over to see you personally.
Things got loud then. He left.
I rather enjoyed the exchange.
The nerve or stupidity of this ass wipe to tell me my inventory of stuff he saw when I was not home.
We live in the country. If he comes back I hope he smiles in the hidden cam behind the stack of batteries I set out.
QUOTE=rynoon;7421306]Same situation for me, except instead of shooting the no trespassing sign they just steal them. It's ridiculous. Five years ago the path down to the cottage (which sits completely on private property) was unusable by dirt bikers, ATV'ers, cars, etc. Spent a ton of money cleaning it up and grading it, maintain it every year and people just rip down it and tear it up.
They also like to drive down to the dam which is on the other side of the property. The only people who have any business at that damn is the MNR and they have an easement. Nobody else does, but kids have decided that the dam is an excellent place to go down and smoke weed. They've also decided that when nobody is at the cottage that they have no issue with smashing the windows, kicking the doors in and robbing the place blind.
We've now taken to telling people to just piss off when we see them on the property. Didn't used to, but it's just ridiculous now. If we tell somebody to leave and they keep driving down to the dam we take the SUV, park it on the single lane access way and tell them to call a tow truck if they want their car out. I hate these idiots.[/QUOTE]
