Ruger 10/22 Competition

I'm curious as well. I got a target lite and while after bedding I gotten about 5/8" groups. I don't think factory 10/22 would make steady 1/2" groups. It could pull the occasional 1/2" groups.

Yes I read the same thing about the 2 action screws on the competition models. I still love that Older nutmeg brown Laminated stalked heavy spiral barrel could a guy have too many 22Lr ?
No such thing as too many 22s. Id like to get a 60th anniversary 10/22 as a plinker.

Are these accurate ?
Looking for a real accurate semi if there is such a thing .
1/2" at 50 meters ?
Maybe, I have one it is has acceptable accuracy for a factory 1022, I also have a factory LVT that I've replaced the stock Trigger with a Ruger BX, it is accurate at lesser price point.

Alot depends on the shooters skill level, a good scope and rest , ammo the rifle is most accurate with.

If you have deep pockets purchase a complete Kidd or Volquartsen Clone.

Or build check out Dlask,CSC, and SBI.

Rimfirecentral.com has pages of good information.

Thank you. What model Ruger competition do you have. Likes dislikes ?

I see the 60th Anniversary model comes with some goodies. Barrel is threaded. I'm still keen on the looks of the Competition models.
Then maybe a CZ 457 Varmint in 17HMR
Well I have 2 Anschutz, so no factory 10/22 will be close to the accuracy. Even my Savage MK2 is more accurate than my target lite. Most of my 22s are long barrel target guns. Just fun to have a plinker.

I guess you could pull occasional 1/2" groups. But not enough to be called a half inch gun.

Thanks for the picture.
I had my eye on a couple a few weeks ago. Both sold before
X-mas. Love the extras it comes with. Looks nice !!

I have a custom shop comp 10/22 its actually the second on I have owned.

First one I bought and then sold because I wanted to get into long range 22lr and needed a bolt action however I got tired of not having a semi auto and picked one up again. The main reason I have the Custom Comp version is because its the only left handed 10/22 option. It can be fairly accurate with the right ammunition and spring weight. I have shot some 1/2" groups with it but that was a while back and I cannot find the target pictures. (The ammo lot no longer exists.) Currently I just shoot the cheap stuff for fun. I will be trying some nicer ammo in the future when I can get some ELEY stuff locally.

In the situation you're in I am going to recommend a custom build if you're right handed. It takes a little more time but I think you can squeeze more accuracy out of them. I will likely go to a custom barrel in the future however I am currently enjoying just sending rounds down range while in between center fire testing. Mostly just 50 yards but sometimes 100 yards with a 3-9 is fun too!
