You would need the Ruger 10/22 Custom Shop Competition model and proper Match ammo, although 'surprisingly' old go to CCI Stingers can shoot well ... try finding a new one in Canada. You might find a used one, but who would sell it? Not I ... lol
SK Biathalon and SK Long Range match ammo work well, but then you need to do your part, + have a good scope for PRS. There is a large number of 22 ammo, research and then experiment - 10 rd groups tell the tale ... lots of 22 junk. Use Match ammo: for accuracy + consistency
Wind always plays havoc with 22s past 100 yds, even 50. But thats the fun of PRS on windy days, once you are dialed in have at it
Once you find your best ammo/rifle match, try using a EC Tuner (about 300.00) ... you may even get tighter groups or find you already have the barrel harmonics for that rifle + ammo. Its surprising how a tuner can bring in groups on cheap 22s etc
My fav go to setup is a Bergara BMR bolt 22 with a match 18" barrel (mine is steel not carbon), Vortex Viper PST 5x25x50 Xmas tree illuminated scope, and SK LR or SK Biathalon ammo - both match ammo work well in mine. Not a cheap set up - about 900 for the rifle and 16-1800.00 for this scope ... I shopped around. You don't need to use high end scopes per se but good ones help, alot. .25 moa or smaller aiming dots can be game changers especially for 22s ...
There are several factory match 22s available, go with your budget and the best that fits you. Even build one. Research, read, learn, there's alot of data + info out there. Spend money ...
