Ruger 10/22 Mags

I love the BC steel lip magazines, until their springs go....same with the TI-25 magazines: really good, but every so often one will have a really lousy magazine spring. I've never had feed-lip-issues with either brand, though.

The ProMag 10/22 drum...I really wanted it to work, but it usually jams every 2-3 rounds. No matter what I've tried.

I was going to also go with the BattleDyne magazines, until I started reading the reviews...life's too short for mag-trouble, so I went to the HC3R's instead. Wanstalls got them for me, and I'm quite happy with them!

I have the HC3R mags and so far they have worked flawlessly. They are a bit pricy ($42 - $45), but the functionality and design are well worth it in my opinion. Here is a link to their website. Also Wanstalls has these in stock and my first ordering experience with them for an after market barrel and stock has been very positive.

:agree:I picked up one from Wanstalls as well. It works great and really easy to load I'm going to buy 1 more and then chuck out my old butler creeks.

I have yet to get my hands on the tear-drop magazine like one of these, though: http://www.mwgco.com/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/50rnd.gif

I've got an original Mitchell like this.

No, it's not for sale, unless you want a straight-up blind trade for a Fortner Anshutz, or something equally silly! (just a note to cut down on the PM's, eh?)

My Mitchell mag is a PITA to load, needs 3 hands, really, and I keep it around to remind myself not to buy in to the sales pitch... The plastic key that came with it was responsible for a couple high speed 'unwind' incidents, so I made a steel one for it. The latch for the rear cover is a weak point. Mine broke off about the third time it was removed. The cover for the main spring is weak too.

Still want one? :D

I keep going back to factory mags for my shooting. I have a couple BC mags around and cannot complain about their reliability, simply that I have found them to not meet my needs as well as the factory 10's do.
