Ruger 10/22 Mags

i just bought a ruger 10/22 target and while i was there i also bought 2 of the ram-line 25 round clips( didn't know they were so crapy) sometimes they work fine sometime's they don't work at all (won't feed ammo,lose ammo in clip)is there anything i can do beside's get rid of them.

I just checked the Wolverine site, but they don't have any of those mags listed?
Do you think the aluminum ones are worth it? I think I might prefer the compound ones, as they can be driven over by a Dodge Ram and won't break!
Take them back and ask for a refund. That's what I did. They exchanged some Hot Lips for some steel lips that work in my 10/22. I had to take the first Steel Lips back and exchange them as well. They wobbled around so much they wouldn't feed properly. The second set of Steel Lips fits nice and tight in my SS 10/22 and I don't have feeding problems anymore.
Frankly, I am confused by the mags described in the Wolverine ad. They look like composites to me. If they are machined aluminum TI sells them for $65.00 on their website. That would be quite a deal at $41.95 here in Canada. To look at the composite mags you have to click on the TI hotlink and they describe them there. I see they now list at $37.95 on the website. If they have any . . .
PS: To answer your question: Personally I don't think they (aluminum mags for the 10/22) are necessary but I guess some one does.
By far the worst mags are the Ram-Line mags, but first appearance should be enough to steer you away from even considering that mistake. I have 2 steel lips mags. One works flawlessly, and feeds as fast as I can pull the trigger. The other seems to have a spring issue, as the cartridges sometimes lie loose just below the lips and don't feed. I've tried working the spring in by loading different amounts of ammo in the mag, but it still continues doing this. I have never had problems with the factory 10-round mags unless the gun was very dirty. Only the stock and trigger group on my gun has been modified (VQ TG2000, Hogue Overmolded Stock), so this is performance with the factory extractor/bolt/firing pin/etc.
Ram line mags for the 10/22 are BY FAR THE WORST mags!!!!!!! I bought 2 of them a week apart. The first one worked great (at first) so I got one more (stupid me
) I called the store were I got them and told them the problems and they exchanged them for Butler Creek steel lips and life has been great ever since. Buy the steel lips, you won't be sorry

After much trial and error with my 10/22 I've found one thing about jamming (specifically stovepiping) It's rarely the mags. It's the ammo and the stock extractor. I put a vq extractor in my rig and then thought I could use cheap bulk pack ammo (non High V). Jammomatic!!! So I bought Remington thunderbolts and now my rig runs flawlesslesly with my TI mags, steel lips, hot lips and a 20 year old eaton mag....SO, replace the extractor, use good Hi-V ammo and you can use use your old "garbage" mags. For those that have mags that don't work - contact me and I'll take em off your hands for free - I'll even pay shipping. I'm serious.

Butler Creek Steel Lips 25 round mags for my 10/22RR...I have them clipped together for 50 rounds. With the Volquartsen precision edge extractor, these mags have fed my 10/22RR with thousands of rounds of any brand of cheapo and premium ammo without a single hiccup.
