Awhile back on some other thread I commented that the 10/22 is the "Chinese Food" of the firearm world; "As soon as you buy one, you think; why did I do that... and soon after selling one, you invariably think; I need another one!"
I have been downsizing my firearms for a couple years and have streamlined down to where the guns that don't make the cut are harder to let go... in spite of this, and having purged myself of all 10/22's and custom rifles based on the 10/22 platform, I recently caved in again. My failure was somewhat provoked by the mountain of 10/22 magazines, assorted custom parts and cases of LR ammo that can't possibly be consumed by my bolt action rifles (too slow)...
So, long story, longer... I put together another 10/22 platform rifle... The premise of this rifle, was to be a compact, light"ish" rifle for plinking and running through ammo... accuracy is taking a backseat to these criteria, but I will endeavor to tune the rifle for the best possible accuracy.
I think my main two criteria have been met... as for accuracy, the range trip is still a week or so away...
Build;
- Dlask DAR22 receiver
- Dlask machined bolt
- Rimfire Tech Charging handle and decelerator spring
- Kidd Single Stage trigger group
- Kidd Light-Weight 16" barrel
- Boyd's Walnut Rimfire Hunter stock @ 13 1/4" LOP
- Dura Sight Z2 QD rings
- Leupold VX-1 4-12X40mm
