Ruger 1911 Impression

Tried a new one at the range tonight. One of the club members just bought one.

It is very good looking. Engraving on it is minimal and tasteful.

Sights looked very good. Trigger was almost perfect. After 500 rounds it will probably be perfect.

Accuracy was excellent. if this is a typical Ruger, this is a Best Buy pistol.

I agree with everything you've stated Ganderite...I am in love with mine. Some have criticized, citing tolerance QC issues but mine is tight.

I'm still skeptical about the Ruger SR1911 due to some people's experiences with them being too loose.

I agree.
No complaint here.
But a business to run and a family to raise makes anything over a 9mm costly to run on a regular basis.

Trust me. There were a few times the Ruger oh so tempted me!

9mm=Glock 17. a great gun, I can't shoot mine worth beans but a great gun all the same. Buy one of these for 9mm shooting then get a .45, learn to reload or don't shoot it as often would be my advice.

Every handgunner "needs" a .45 1911 and the SR1911 is everything a 1911 "needs" to be.
A .357 DA revolver is the other "need" but that's another topic. All other handguns are merely "wants". JMHO.

38 Super and 9mm were introduced in the 1911 a long, long time ago. It boggles the mind that Colt only got an extra 2 rounds out of that.

But, the 9mm 1911 is a very heavy pistol. Couple the weight with a mild load and a fine trigger you have a super pistol for fast shooting.

Me too as well. Very impressed with the SR1911 but I generally prefer black semi auto pistols so a blued SR1911 would be great.
