I just bought a Ruger 22/45 Mk III
interested in people's opinions about it

i also have a question:
about how many rounds to these things shoot before starting to wear or need some parts replacement?

I have a slab barrel one and I like it, had about seven hundred rounds and no sign of any wear. I guess you don't have to replace anything for at least ten thousands rounds. clean and lub nicely after use.

Put a Volquartsen sear in it for a sweet/cheep trigger job first. Our 22/45s have maybe 20k each. Volquartsen make a great extractor too, that's the only thing that may wear out.

Mine shot 4000 rounds and every part is still in excellent condition.

It shoots very well but the grip is too thin for normal size hand

NAA.

Mine has one year now. About 1500 rounds and 2 cleaning session later i've never experienced a single malfonction that is not ammo related. And even when i use real cheap ammo's it doesn't appened often (maybe 1-2 per 500 rounds). Very satisfied overall. BUT, it is true that the grip is a little small, even for normal size hands. If i could do it again, i'd rather buy the standard MkIII model for the different grip option.
