Does anyone know where i can find an aftermarket trigger group or sear and spring kit for this gun. Has anyone replaced theirs? Happy with the results? Thanks in advance.

Look for the Volquartsen sear for the 77/22. It works in the 77/22 in all calibers and the 77/44 and 77/357.

I installed one in my 77/44 and using the factory trigger spring it took a very creepy 7lbs trigger pull down to 3lbs. with just a hint of creep. The Volquartsen trigger spring that came with the sear brought the trigger pull down below the point where I felt comfortable using the rifle in the field.

Mine was easy to install and works properly. There are videos on YouTube that take you through the process.

I bought mine at Ellwood Epps. They are also available from Brownells but I don't know what import/export hoops have to be jumped to get them to Canada.

I tried a Volquartsen sear in my 77/17, and the trigger pull improved, but a good rap on the bolt would release the firing pin. I installed a Rifle Basix trigger, and the trigger improved immensely, fully adjustable, and no creep, and it will not slam fire.

Was that with the Volquartsen spring? I've tried to set mine off with a rap on the bolt and it held firm.

Resurrecting an old thread....

Looks like Volquartsen has discontinued their Target Sear and Spring Kit. Brownells hasn't had them for a while so I emailed Volquartsen and they confirmed they have discontinued the Target Sear because Ruger dropped the 77/22 line. Seems a little premature to me. The Ruger line was just discontinued, wouldn't you think parts suppliers should support a while longer?

I guess I'll be looking to the Rifle Basix trigger for both my 77/17 Hornet and 77/22 Hornet.
