Ruger Alaskan Stainless in 375 or 416

We hear people talking about knocking off some weight by using a compact scope, a customized stock, or cutting off an inch of bbl, only to find them adding 9 big,fat cartridges on the stock.

I find it way easier to have extra rounds on my rifle rather than to reach into my back pack or whatever and fish out a few rounds out of a box.

My howa 1500 in 375 ruger also has a Velcro cheek rest thing with extra rounds on the side!

Your Right ! THEY dont call it the KING because the Real KING is the 375 H&H ! Always was and always will BE ! :d Get used to it there Clark ! :) lol RJ

As much as I like the ballistics on the 375 ruger, I have to agree with you. The H&H is just a classic. Hell, just own one of each and fuggetabouddit!

Why one needs to attach 9 rounds to a rifle?
To carry more payload?
Or have not enough confidence in this caliber, thus need quantity to save quality?

It must suck to own only one rifle. :)
Every one of my rifles has one of these attached. Every morning when I head out to the truck I grab whatever I feel like taking that day and I sure as hell don't want to start hunting for ammo, which I have a boatload of. They're a great invention. I prefer Uncle Mike's brand. The only thing I do is make a small cut so it slips over the sling stud and that way it doesn't move.

I always like the 375s, but found I liked shooting/hunting the smaller/lighter chamberings. I'd rather carry a 7# rifle than a 9 pounder. Also less recoil worked in my favour as well.

I guess it's all what you get use too. But at the end of a long day in the bush even a 6lb rifle is going to feel like a brick.

I like to shoot heavy for calibre bullets.
Seam very effective on game and don't cause hardly any meat loss

The problem is guys that get hung up on this flat trajectory crap and think of you go up a weight class the bullet will drop like a rock

Fact is my 375ruger with 300g Sierras needs zero compensation from the muzzle to 300yrds.
300-400 hold it in the top of the back and let fly.

Beyond that don't intrest me when the target is made of steaks.

seems you are ready for the .366 Wagner ....

Got it covered ........ :)
