Ruger American Ranch

So besides being hard to source, the 5rd Ruger x39 factory magazine magazine works well....ok good to know.

I recall back in the day the XCR 10rds x39 mags seemed to work best with only 8rds.

Regarding mag release, any pros/cons of factory release setup vs the mag adapter release system?

The Mini-30 mag is a bit easier to use, but it's not significant.

The XCR mags seem to work best with 8 or less rounds in them. All of mine work well with at least 6 and one is good with 10. It's dependent on the individual fit of the mag in the adapter and how much wobble there is.

Thanks for the great info....very helpful.:)

You're very welcome. Had mine out at the range this afternoon. Didn't go past 300m today, but it will hit our 16" steel gong at 500m without much work, other than twisting the elevation knob all the way around a couple times.

20-23 minutes of elevation between 100m and 500m, depending on temperature.

All in all, it's a fun, cheap to shoot, reasonably accurate (with surplus ammo) rifle. One of the few guns I've ever bought that I was completely satisfied with.

The Predator model is a great option to the Ranch model.

223 only, 6 inches longer and heavier barrel and green stock.
