So a short while ago I was able to get my hands on a left hand Ruger 10/22 custom shop model and hope to run it through a couple NRL22/CRPS match here in BC.

The slowest part was rings because I ordered the wrong size. I am also going to be doing a review in the scope at a later date.

This is just a starter to the thread. I will also be doing accuracy testing with multiple types of ammo at 50 yards and 100 yards.

If anyone has suggestions on what they would like to see tested let me know :)

Here are a couple photos of the setup and the first 4 types of ammo I’ll be testing.

I have my eye on one of those 22 like yours. interesting to see how it shoots. try some CCI blazers and some federal champion .

SK Pistol Match please. Rumour has it that it shoots well in autoloaders.

If I can find some I will! Trying to get everything somewhat local these days!

Blazers and federal are on the list! Was planning on getting both but cabelas was pretty much picked clean! Canadian tire had the s&b canadian match!

Get some CCI Standard velocity ammo and use that as a baseline. These usually shoot pretty decent in a 1022. With my old standard Ruger 1022 carbine with pencil barrel they group around 1" or less at 50y. Eley Club usually groups a bit better than CCI SV in my 1022. Your SK Standard + should shoot decent groups in your rifle,.

Aguila red box
CCI AR TAC
Eley contact and force.

I'd try those 4 first if had that rig, stay with the mid to good type stuff.

I got 3 cases of Auto match for the kids to blast though with the 10/22.

I haven't had as much time behind this rifle as I would have liked by now but I guess life gets that way sometimes.

The little time I have had the SK Standard Plus and the S&B Canadian Match have been the best so far.

Waiting to find more of the mid to good grade stuff locally before I spend a day at the range shooting targets.

Finally got a chance to test some ammo at 25 yards today. I was able to hit the steel plates at 100 and 200 but wind was playing hell with me. I am by no means a world class marksman and I am slowly getting into the 22 Long range or short range stuff (Speed Steel) I also have nothing to compare these groups too rifle wise. It really seemed to like the SK stuff the most.

I tested these five.

Nice rifle, SK, Lapua, Eley or RWS are all I would put down the pipe...

Also 25m groups aren't going to tell you much I don't think... but until I saw CCI stinger maybe I'm wrong, I didn't know a group could even be that bad at such a close range LOL

Yeah I wanted to get a sight in going. Would 50 be better or straight too 100 ?

It really didnt like the stinger I tried twice more and that was the best one. I guess my rifle just doesn't like it. I am hoping to get my hands on Lapua or Eley at some point here but locally its hard for sure. At worst it would make a great speed steel rifle :D

I would definitely go to 50yrds. Then 100.

I was actually planning to do some testing with my 10/22 in the morning weather dependent
Looking Foward to seeing your results

Have a store of Federal Match 922A made by RWS to R50 standards.
Tested in CZ455 and on occasion beat the R50.
Thinking it should be good for our 100 Metre Rimfire Semi-Auto, five different lots were tested shooting four 10-round groups from a 10/22 with a Dlask barrel.
The averages were 2.1, 2.1, 2.1, 2.2 and 2.4. Hardly match accuracy.
Switched to Eley Match Biathlon, some groups were not much over 1" and all were under 2".
Good enough to win the match.

Yeah I saw my local Canadian tire has a ton of Eley in stock so I am planning on grabbing a few different boxes to test in the ruger.

Im slowly working towards the 100 yard/metre challenge but dont have the right scope yet.

Alright so Sunday this past weekend I managed to get out with the club and shoot the 100 yard challenge. I tested a bunch of a different ammo in my rifle and learned allot from a few of the members who put on the challenge and the mission shoot as well.

All groups are shot off a Mystic Precision MPOD on a with a variable scope at 20 power. Out of a Ruger 10/22 Custom Shop Competition LH Model.

Weather was a little bit of rain every so often and a bit of wind so probably not the best day for testing.

The ammo tested was:
SK Flat nose Basic
SK Standard Plus
S&B Canadian Match
Eley Club
Eley Force
Eley Biathlon
Eley Semi Auto Benchrest Outlaw
Norma Jaktmatch

My groups aren't the best but I hope to tighten them up a tad bit.
Norma Jaktmatch produced one decent group.

S&B Canadian Match did alright.
SK Standard Plus seemed to provide me with the best group/score.

Eley Semi Auto Benchrest Outlaw was a tad bit disappointing as I had high hopes for it.

You beat me to it. Testing at less then 75 yards is just a waste of ammo in MYHO. Personally i use to shoot at 25, 50, 75, 100 yds. and after thousands of rounds of ammo came to the conclusion that three of those ranges were a waste of time and money. I do however only shoot bolt guns so in your case with a 10/22, 75 yards would probably be a good place to start.

The Eley club defiantly has potential as well as the Federal cheapy stuff.

I agree the Club has potential I was also hoping for the Eley Force would do good as some people have had good results.

I hope to find something. That Federal was good minus it wasn't on paper for the first few -_- It was impacting much higher (assuming due to the faster velocity) So I plan to pickup some more in the next week or two.

I like testing at 50 cause it makes for easier time reading the hits (for me at least) and only use 25 to get sighted in. From now on I think I will only shoot to 100 for groups.

I want to try more SK and some aguila stuff next.

Cheers,
B
