I've read mixed reviews of the Ruger 10/22 BX trigger.

Any first hand users got something to say?

My stock trigger is crisp with little to no over travel. Could be a little lighter, but certainly not impossible.

I guess whether it's worth it will come down to how bad the factory trigger is . I bought a new 10/22 Laminated Target heavy barrel and bought a BX trigger right away . In hindsight , it was a bit better then the stock trigger but not worth the cost . The difference was small . Maybe my factory trigger was unusually good though ? Who knows ? I've seen some regular 10/22's with pretty crappy , heavy triggers and for these guns , it be would an almost mandatory upgrade . It would be much better .

I thought the Laminated Target heavy barrel 10/22 had a factory upgraded trigger

If money’s not an issue just buy a Kidd trigger. There are none better. I’ve owned pretty much all of them. If money is the problem buy a trigger upgrade kit and rebuild ur own original and it will be better than the BX. Just my personal opinion and experience.

I tend to agree with this

volquartsen target hammer and it will be a good as bx trigger, got the bx on one and upgraded the stock trigger with that hammer and its really good but the bx is also a lot better than stock lol so it depends if you want to play a bit with your gun.

Thanks, guys.

Wish I was close to an outlet that stocked them so I could actually measure the pull. I don't want to order one and be disappointed.

I have a really early stainless synthetic " boat paddle" 10/22 that I thought had a very nice stock trigger, compared to several of my friends ruger 10/22 rifles it seemed like a much smoother ,lighter trigger.

When the bx triggers became available I bought one thinking it was going to be an upgrade on my boat paddle, once installed I felt like it wasn't near as smooth as the stock trigger ,several of us noticed this ,I ended up putting my stock group back in and put the bx trigger assembly in a newer 10/22 which it definately was a upgrade for that rifle.

For the money a BX trigger is the easiest way for anybody to get a much lighter trigger pull.
A Kidde trigger and some of the others cost more than the average 10-22.
Not everyone is a gunsmith wannabe.
I have BX triggers on all my 10-22's and the gophers hate it.

im pretty sure or at one time i know the VLEH and Target 10/22 came with a trigger that was a step up from the normal 10/22 trigger right from the factory.
so you may have already had one of the upgraded triggers in your gun since it was a Target one.

My 10/22 dates from the early 80's. Still like new, very low mileage.

i have pretty much all the triggers out there for 10/22's and id say for the money the BX is pretty good.
but, for pretty much the same amount you can send your trigger down to Brimstone and get it done up and it will be 10x better than the BX is.

10/22 triggers are directly proportional to how much money you spend on them.
if you spend $100 your gonna get a decent trigger (BX)
if you spend $150 your gonna get a lot better trigger (Brimstone/VQ parts)
if you spend $240 your gonna get a really nice trigger (timney/kidd 1 stage/ VQ)
if you spend $350 your gonna get a trigger that makes you smile a little too much each time you fire your rifle (kidd 2 stage)

but for the money i like Brimstone tier 1.
