Ruger BX-25 Mags

You won't regret it, besides if you're not 100% satisfied I'll give you a 50% refund for it, just let me know.

Seriously though please limit yourself to just one, because I don't want them to sell out, thanks.

haha, i really concidered buying 2.. but went back on my decision and told myself.. Geez Doc, you dont even have your PAL yet, neither a Ruger.. just freaking wait (and buy a 3x Butlers Creek Mag to compare with the TI25-Alum)

Has anyone actually tried ordering the bx-25's from Brownells? On the site they only advertise it is for the 10/22 and in the Q/A tab for the mags it says they will ship to canada...

Q: can this mag be shipped to canada and would it be pinned to 10 rounds

A: Sorry, but will have to call in to our International orders desk to check. It will not be pinned - can ship as is, or it is restricted.

I am about to put an order through brownells and wondering if they will be allowed in or not based on the fact that they are not advertising they are for rifle AND pistol.

Although, I guess based on the Ref above, even if you were able to order them, they would still be prohibited, just based on the fact they are made to fit both rifle and pistol?

Oooo...I'd be really careful pursuing this. You could land yourself in a world of legal hassle. Odds are everything might go smoothly, though I've heard that Brownells packages get fully inspected, but if a US business sends you something that conflicts with canadian firearms regs. and it gets flagged/intercepted - you're Fvcked!

Happened to a friend of mine, the US company had no problem shipping a questionable gun part (I won't elaborate), but the cops did. He was busted, they raided his house, took his guns, he did six months, no joke.

The BX25 is a prohited device as it is, while I agree that it's ridiculous. You really don't want to go through a potential legal nightmare, just to get a mag that feeds better, not worth it.

Cancel the order now, follow the law. Seriously.

I would just stick with bc steel lips the few I have work great I never get any jams even shooting it as fast as I can

Yea, me too.

I always just buy just one of something, to test it out first, not to mention the business/store. Afterwards I assess how many more I want/need, then I pray that there is still more in stock. Stuff sells out so quickly in Canada, and then it's always "Yea we'll get more, sometime..."

Pick up some .22lr snap caps by A-Zoom, other brands like Tipton suck - I'll give you mine for free. You can load your mag, and you'll need them to cycle/test the action on any .22lr safely.

I'd check out a Butler Creek mag too, they've been the canadian standard hi cap 22 mag for a reason, in the steel lips.

Yea I figured this was the case, not going to be ordering the mags. I thought that it was only a question of finding a place to ship them, I didnt realize (until I read the RCMP Ref) that the mags were actually prohibited. Ohwell BC steels it is.

Another option

Yea, better to stay clear of a legal nightmare. Though this is an issue that should be resolved, even if it's just re-christening the BX25 the CX25 only for the 10/22 rifle.

Check out Tactical Innovations TI25 machined aluminum 10/22 mag at Wanstalls, supposedly unavailable in canada, but they have them. I bought one last week, to hold it is to love it, I want 10 more, but at $80 a mag they're a premium option. All the best.

I wonder how much mag is enough .. i know it depends on what you plan to do/shoot but how many loaded mag do you guys carry when going shooting ? I told to myself around 4

I have a store at 5 min from my home who sells Butler creek steel lips for 30$ a piece so i was planing on getting 3 of em

I didnt read the entire info on the TI25 mags but I sure hope there is not any info about fitting it in the ruger charger pistol Ă -la-bx25

I wonder what happens to magazines already in canada, in our possession, if BC starts advertising their magazines as fitting the charger.

Potentially the same thing in theory, but lets not go there and just enjoy things as they are, while they stay that way.

I voted Conservative to help defeat the LGR, didn't before, as lawful gun owners this has been our year!

After seeing all the youtube videos on how awesome these mags worked I was a bit upset to discover they were classed aa a prohib. device.

so, I decided to send a letter to Ruger via their facebook page.
It went a little like this...

I am certain that Ruger has been informed of this by now, but i would like to add myself to the group of Canadians who have been denied the right to purchase Ruger's BX-25 magazines due to the fact that they are classed as a prohibited item by Canadian firearms law.
I am the owner of many Butler Creek and Tactical Inc 25 round mags which can be purchased any where. Hell, I even have a 50 round drum mag.
What I have found out is that, by no fault of Ruger, the BX-25 magazines state that they can be used in the Charger.
Canadian law states that no handgun can hold more than 10 rounds in its magazine. Since the BX-25 can fit into the Charger and is advertised as such, it violates our laws and thus is deemed prohibited.
Now, there are 2 ways around this:

1. Canadian version of the magazine in the form of a pinned 10 round magazine....BX-25/10
(this is a ridiculous idea and i hope this isn't the fix Ruger has come up with)
2. Different, Canadian friendly version of the BX-25 packaging that excludes the Chargers compatibility in print.
I hope this message finds its target and we can finally be able to use them.
thanks in advance for your time and consideration,
Canada

Amazingly, I got a message back. quickly too:

Thanks for the information Rob, we certainly understand your frustration. We'd also like to capitalize on sales of the BX-25 Magazine, though I won't pretend to understand how we will approach the issue. I will share your input with the proper department. Hopefully you will be able to purchse one in Canada someday. Thanks for you interest in our products!

Now, who knows if anything is going to be done or if there is even a way around it now, but at least I can say I did something.

Good job rooster, I'm going to follow your lead and send them an e-mail too.

I mean how many 10/22 owners are there in Canada that would buy this better mag, there have to be thousands. So it's obviously a profitable move for Ruger to address it and come up with a solution. I just love the CX25 name, that'd be amazing. I'd buy a dozen just to celebrate another gun owner victory over senseless canadian legal red tape.

Just bought my first non restricted since the LGR demise and it brought me back to the FAC days, it was great.

All Ruger would have to do is make a 'Canadian' model, label it say, BX-C25, and not mention the charger on the packaging.

IMO the Canadian market is big enough to warrant them doing a run of them with different packaging.

If anything, Ruger is just too busy to bother

They claim to not be able to keep up with current demand - I surprised the 10/22 take down rifle made it into Canada this soon. Looks like lots of places State side are already sold out or asking higher than Canadian pricing

I just sent a message to Ruger, hopefully something can get sorted out in the near future. This is the biggest bunch of b/s and just further illustrates the stupidity of our firearm laws.
