I picked up a new charger and out of the box, run a torture test of 400 rounds in about 30 min (50 round drum mags rock, btw).

I mounted this red dot on it: http://www.reddotpaintball.com/tactical-edge-red-dot-green-dot and it zero'd well.

At home the next day, I did a quick cleaning and noticed my scope mount rail (http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/21052-34.html) was coming loose.

I tightened the screws up pretty well and remounted the scope.

I wasn't impressed, but really not that surprised. Maybe the rail wasn't on too tight from the factory, maybe the weight of the red dot (a whopping 13 oz) was so heavy, combined with high volume shooting caused them to loosen up. I'm going to try to mount an ultradot (at a mere 4oz) and do it again. (http://www.rimfiresports.com/mercha...e=RSC&Product_Code=AALULDT25&Category_Code=RD)

I have to say the receiver on the charger sure looks cheap - but I'm not that bummed out for $400.

Overall - I still think it was worth it (worth it enough to pick up an archangel kit)

Thoughts?

Rail on my 10/22 VLEH came loose after a couple hundred shots too - loctite and about a thousand rounds later, it's still solid as a rock. Lessons learned!

When you blue loctite the base screws, first be sure to remove the bolt from the receiver. If excess loctite leaks down it can gum up the bolt or the firing pin.

Hey something like that happens to me with my 10-22 can some one PM me with where I can pick some of this up ?. Thanks. Any big box stores carry it ?. And is it removable if so how ?.

Blue lock tight Canadian tire most auto stores just a little on the treads .Don't buy the red .

It's funny the amount of people that recommend LocTite like it's the norm, but complain when it has to used on specific firearms.

Not saying anyone here is being hypocritical, just making an observation.

Congrats on the new Charger. Carry on...

:)

So I have a scope -Tasco target varmit 6-24x- and its quite a big scope for a 10-22. So all I would have to do it put a little blue Loctite of the screws to my factory base and it would most likely stay put ?.
And when I wanted to use the irons I would just undo the screws like normal ?.

Pretty much.

I'd reccomend trying purple loctite first, it's the lowest strength, and in my opinion most suitable for the size of fastener in question. If the purple won't hold it reliably, then go to the blue.

So I upgraded my charger with an Arch Angel kit.

Mounted an ultradot with cheapo high scope rings and added some cheapo flip up BUIS. They don't cowitness at all, and unfortunately, the set of rails on the rear is misaligned to the rails on the handguard - the rear rail is slightly higher than the front, so I had to adjust the elevation of my front sight as far down as I could go - and even then, at 25m it was low 4 inches (although I think I might have adjusted them wrong, and instead should have tried to crank it up). The ultradot on the other hand was bang on accurate.

I also mounted an airsoft forward vertical grip on the handguards.

I used Butler Creek steel lips with a few failures (I believe technique) and a black dog 50 round drum mag.

I tried a "machine gun" style of shooting, with my support hand resting on the top of the receiver as I shot - and that caused ALOT of stoppages - then I tried shooting normally (gripping forward grip), and that significantly reduced the stoppages.

Only othercomplaint is the magwell is VERY tight with the Archangel kit - making it a bit difficult to do mag changes -but I think in time, with some wear it will lighten up.

Very fun unit - highly recommended.

Might be a stupid question, but here goes anyway. Charger is restricted, correct? If action and barrel are placed in another stock taking oal to 26"+, can it be re-classified as non-res? Still just a 10/22 right?
