Don't kid yourself easyrider that is an old wives tale The S&W guns are every bit as strong as a Ruger and not only that they are much nicer to shoot and handle. The only drawback is they cost a lot more but I guess you get what you pay for.

That must be why there are "Ruger Only Loads" Much the same that You can't use 45/70 Marlin or Ruger #1 loads in a Trapdoor rifle.
Smith may be smoother and more refined, but it isn't as strong.
