Ruger M77 Alaskan in 375 Value?

It was only around for about 5 years and don't imagine Ruger discontinued it because there was some kind of demand.

Have seen them listed, once in a while, as they came from Ruger for $800-850 - at least that was the asking price.

Not sure if they had any luck selling them at that price unless they had never been fired.

The Guide Gun/stainless in 375 Ruger, which is close to what this one was (might have been what replaced it in the line-up), can be had for in the mid $900 range (found one for 960 brand new at a online dealer without looking too hard).

My Ruger Alaskan was a very early one with the phosphate finish and no barrel band, sling stud was on the Hogue stock.
I sold it with a full disclosure of its issues for much less than $ 600.

Some days you just seem to walk into the greatest deals and some days NOT!!
Just the luck of the draw and how badly beat up the previous owner got shooting factory ammo and a rubberized beard ripping stock.

I got my Alaskan mint but used with dies 2 boxes of ammo and brass for $800. I love that gun.

I think I paid around the same thing for mine, $750 iirc, with a box of factory ammo and a box of fired brass. Now that they are discontinued and regarded by most as the nicer option of the newer Guide rifle, I could see a mint rifle go between $800-$1000.

I haven't seen too many advertised for less than $1000 in stainless with the Hogue stock. I think Ruger made a pretty big mistake in dropping them from the line up, but they're famous for discontinuing production on popular models.

Agreed. I recently did some research and discovered a notable lack of CRF .375 stainless options. Other forums had posters wishing Ruger kept some of these models going also.
