I’ve never saw anything like this. Got this package from UPS from Gotenda. I put in a warranty claim and filed a damages claim with UPS. I’m stuck with this broken piece of junk for now. Any suggestions? Should I be sending it back?

Update 1: 2024/11/02 Requested a refund from Tenda.

Update 2: 2024/11/04 Tenda sent a return label. I’m impressed with the customer service at this point.

I believe only the shipper, in this case Tenda, can submit a claim for damages. You shouldn't have to do anything other than contact Tenda for an exchange. Was the exterior box damaged? Take pictures of all the packaging as well.

That one hurts. Never should have left the factory like that. Hope the warranty is easy for you OP. I need another lever like I need another hole in my head but there's something about those new 1894's that I just want, can't explain it.

Got pictures of the box before opening it? Was the box obviously damaged?
Nothing obvious since it was in a garbage bag and taped. Once opened didn’t even realize until I went to pull it out of the plastic. There’s a crush where the stock (pictured) was and at the end of the barrel. Box had fragile on it too.

This is my second. I’m trying to buy the full set. They are everything I expect in a leaver and more. I couldn’t describe the feeling when I took my other 44 one to the range for the first time.

The best rifle packing I have seen has come from Phrophet River. Most just use the original box and possibly wrap in another layer of cardboard.
The two I received from PR came in a second box. Factory box was turned at a 45 across the corners in a larger box and packing in the air spaces. Both came through Canada post without any damage.
UPS has way too many hoar stories for me to even think of using.

Again (I've posted before) we are a photographic company that sends out about 20 pieces a day.
We use primarily Canada Post because on the whole they are the most trustworthy (by far) to get product...expensive photo gear...to the client in a timely fashion, UNDAMAGED.
But people here continually complain because they are 'Canada Post'.

The factory should pack lever actions with the stock off and so should anyone else shipping them.

They are not very strong by nature.

I'm sure the OP will be taken care of one way or the other, that stock is repairable by someone with the right glue, skills and basic tools.

I take pictures of every box before opening, then again after it's opened to show how its packed.

If you ship alot, it becomes second nature and just takes a second.

Recently I started to take pictures when I ship, pictures of packing job before being sealed up and pictures on the post office counter to show outgoing condition of the box.

Those factory boxes are only good for when the distributors send them out 100 at a time shrink wrapped on a pallet.

Some Stoger boxes have "Not a shipping container" printed right on it.

Boxes get tossed around, fall off conveyors, slide off counters etc, the shipper bears some responsibility of improperly packed.

UPS can deny damage claims if the goods are not packed and protected even if the box is damaged.

Packing guidelines are on the website.

That box has a crease but nothing I'd say severe enough to damage a well packed item to that extent.

Update: I sent an email to Tenda requesting a return of the rifle. I have dealt with Ruger’s warranty before and it was less than stellar. It took 3 weeks to a month to get the parts.
