ruger p89 vs glock 17

the glock is undetectable and will give you ninja-like powers. the ruger will make you stronger and more noticeable to women.

only you can decide what is right for you.

Buy a Glock and you have a race gun on hand. Buy a Ruger and you have a shooting iron on hand. Both can shoot but Glock is way better, trust me on this as I am not a Glock fan but they are really good.

Personally I would be all over ninja-like powers! :dancingbanana:

Both are fine service pistols. See if you can shoot both and then decide. Lastly, I prefer the Glock 17 but that is just me. Regards, Richard:D

Good advice... see which one actually fits your hand & is best for you.

Personally, I've tried both. Owned the Glock 17. That's where my choice between the two would be.

But since we're also talking 9mm's... the Browning High Power MkIII is my 9mm of choice in a double-stack... ;)

The Glock is easy to deal with, simple. Easy to get parts for. Has smaller grip than the P89 but also an awkward angle.

The P89 is basic as well and no frills, built to last. The grip is big, some find it akin to a 2x4 but I find it easy to aim. Good balance too.

Find something that fits your hand well enough for you to be comfortable and more natural. Shooting something you aren't comfortable with will be aching and you'll likely shoot poorly and just get frustrated.

The ruger is a bit bulky, but nowhere near as bad as people say. I have small hands, I was able to use my Ruger P89 quite easily. I'd get the glock over the p89 though.

BUT, I'd get a CZ SP-01 over both of them! :D

Very true! CZ SP01 is a better gun for the money. And looks way more ###y.

i had a glock22, glock19 and ruger p85 (almost same gun as p89 ) all at the same time, and while the ruger was accurate, it didn't feel like it was in the same league as the glocks. it felt slooooooooow, and chunky.

which is probably how most people feel about glocks....lol

er, glock over the ruger, (to bad, I like rugers but hate glocks, they feel awkward) but I'd take a XD over both of them and come out of it with a holster and mag pouches...:dancingbanana:

I own both, and they are a pleasure to shoot. The Glock has a much lighter trigger pull than the Ruger, which makes it a better target gun. Something else to keep in mind, the Glock has a much better resale value.
