Ruger PC Carbine

On the reliability issue, apparently the first chunk of them to come out had some issues with FTE. Ruger handled that issue under warranty, and the reports seem to be overwhelmingly positive since then.

I'll find out sometime in February when I finally get it out to the range, and post my findings.

I bought the 20" toolbox from PA tonight - Grand opening week for the Dartmouth store BTW.

The rifle fits almost perfectly in this box - I had to remove the butt spacer (so there's none in) but with iron sights, it's a perfect fit. I'm post a picture of it tomorrow.

Got my PCC today - pleasantly surprised at the build quality - better than I expected. It doesn't feel fragile or "plasticky" at all, despite the synthetic stock. Mag release was easy to reverse, mag well swaps were easy, all I need now is my lefty safety to get here and for Cabelas to get around to shipping the scope I ordered over a week ago :(

Where did you find the lefty safety? I need one of those

I've been doing quite a bit of target shooting and hunting with mine. So far 100% reliable with every kind of ammo I've fed it. It has quickly become my favorite small game/plinking rifle.

I'm mating mine with a Vortex Crossfire red dot (in low mount config) and a Red Rock Outdoor Gear Super Sling 2. Should be a decent combo for the back 40.

Does anyone know what the shortest glock mag is that will fit the rifle?
Right now I'm using magpul g19 mags, but even they are riveted. Is there an OEM 10 round mag that would be a little shorter?

I absolutely love this thing. I have a EOtech on mine and have it set up for Glock mags. This thing is a tank and I can’t wait for a stock even a Magpul hunter style. This rifle has a lot of potential and can’t wait for more support for it.

My friends rifle purchased at the same time and location as mine, purchased a Vortex similar to the EOtech but we had to verify on my rifle and his that the vortex wouldn’t fit. The rail is not milspec but more “ruger” spec but my EOtech 512 dropped right on but the vortex was at least 1/8” away from going on.

I have been seriously considering getting this rifle coated because it is going to see a LOT of use from me personally and don’t think it would hurt to be dipped.

I actually want another one now because (and the wife) it has all the reliability of the barretta storm but none of the features I always hated. If barretta would make a new stock that eliminated their own sights and incorporated a flat top rail in their place, and eliminated the damn butt and thumb hole stock and allowed AR acceptable stocks I would be all over it but this Ruger impresses me significantly and I own several versions of pistol carbines and they don’t hold a candle to this one except one I built that cost 4-5 as much and is restricted.

This is an exceptional package for the price and I highly recommend anyone interested jump and get one when you can and don’t regret.
