Ruger PC Carbine

there are lots of AR type PCC's already . I purchased the Ruger because it does not look like as AR.

That’s nice

I for one can’t wait to get my hands on the newest model in rugers pcc product line
The mlok rail was a no brainer I’m glad I waited out for it and now
I wanna wait out till we get the new ones which shouldn’t be long
Superior ergonomics and modularity and .. aesthetic

I recommend handling/shouldering the new model with the rail - It's ungainly and doesn't point or handle as good as the original stock.
Also, it looks every bit of a$$ as the original, even if you can strap a bunch of crap to the front to make it even more of a pig. YMMV.
I went with the original as it can be had for around $700, and I'm hoping Magpul or someone else comes up with a decent aftermarket stock.
The one from Copper Customs is the best I've seen so far.

The standard carbine is really good as it is. If you want an AR type PCC you will be better off buying one of the million options already set up that way.

If Trudeau bans the AR's and all other "Military Assault Rifles" what ever the latter is, we may see three gun/two gun competitions rise from the ashes utilizing carbines and Pistol Kits similar to the Ruger PCC. I have very limited experience to date using my Ruger and less with my Kidon Conversion Kit but both should work well shooting IDPA PCC Division. My initial thoughts are the Kidon, being shorter will prevail shooting the IDPA version of PCC as most of the shooting often is under 20 yards and in and around walls and barricades. Aside from being shorter in length the Kidon enjoys a pistol with a competition trigger, although my Ruger PCC certainly has a more than adequate trigger out of the box.

I should also comment the Pistol Kits with a butt stock as opposed to a brace, are not allowed to cross the border for competitions. I add that for anyone who might want to use a conversion kit in competitions in the US. The Kit with a butt stock wold be considered a Short Barreled Rifle (SBR) and the aTF won't issue a "Stamp" to non residents.

For me it will be practice later this spring and summer.

I really don't see much advantage to buying the more expensive version of the Ruger. The standard gun is heavy enough to dissipate the recoil of the 9MM and for competition and/or plinking hanging a light, laser, or lunch on the forearm isn't really necessary IMHO.

Take Care

For myself ergonomically I MUCH prefer a pistol grip to traditional and a rail at the 6 in order to mount forward grips

Got a package from Brownells today. I made a bit of a change to my PCC9...

Sorry, I see the pictures have disappeared... I'll try to get new ones...

lowburb Cost all in? Make of parts?

Ugly as hell but functional

Heh heh. I'm not sure it looks any better or worse but it seems reliable... The parts are Midwest Industries. They make a folding stock, too. I pulled the grip and butt stock off my M&P Sport II and I'm upgrading it. The total without the S&W parts was 485 CAD. No cheaper than getting the new version from Ruger, but I already had this one so...

I don’t mind the look of that actually. Pardon my ignorance but is the MLOK version of the ruger PCC still a Take-Down version?
