Ruger pc9 future proof? Risk of ban?

i just want a 9mm, seems like it would be a lot more fun and satisfying than a rimfire for some training, introduction, apocalypse, zombies etc.

didn't want to spend a ton of time here annoying everyone, just a clarification if the pc9 is still not banned and what thoughts were that it would get banned

i'm a 6.5 grendel fan and have a ruger american ranch with the 10 round c-products ar pistol mags and stocked up lol so i'm down, i have 4 grendels in total, all bolt action, a cz 527 american that i stuffed a sendero contour proof research carbon barrel into it that runs hornady black at 2605 fps, two howa builds, one in a custom mdt lss that my machinest was able to take 7 oz of fat out of and is ultralight build for the kids with mft blm butt stock, talley rings and a light leupold...i believe it could be the lightest chassis build on the planet at about 6.5 lbs all up, me and my boys have 6 kills with them over the past 3 seasons now, a moose, 3 deer, a bighorn sheep and a coyote...season isn't over yet either, so i am a gun nut just a hunting nut even more

i just got a bone for something in 9mm so i guess the risk on the pc9 would be worth it, sure wish more manufacturers would get on board with non semi-auto 9mm non-restricted type options, it's a great cost effective cartridge that deserves more platforms imo

It seems you have answered your own question.
If you think it will get banned, hurry up and buy not one, but two. That is common sense.

Understand that corrupt government intends to confiscate ALL guns from honest citizens soon. Also understand it is the duty of honest citizens to not comply.

This is excellent advice, especially since we’re talking about an NR rifle.

The current government intentions are clear: ban all non-hunting firearms!
So competitive shooter think that they're safe but they are not and like the UK you should expect only hunting bolt-action rifles and double shotgun to survive the ban.
We can stop this but the current Liberal goverment intent is crystal clear.

This! I would add the Greens would extend the ban to hunting if they ever get in power,

They were already demanding more bans.

Is the Ruger PCC future proof? Yep:

Buy a PC9 blakeyboy and get a dog in the fight!
Sounds like you enjoy modifying and customizing your rifles? ...centralized storage will put an end to that, you can sign out a savage package rifle in 30-06 with a ####ty no-name scope and 5 rounds of ammo for the weekend.
Get educated and realize that there were pure sporting arms (460 Weatherby Magnum) that were banned outright in May.
If you are a recreational hunter who is not an indigenous "sustenance" hunter you're pastime is under attack.
Not trying to be a #### to you, just giving you some tough love especially considering your join date. We NEED you buddy!

All these non-restricted firearms they've made insta-prohibited remain absent from any registry in terms of connecting who owns what. Turning them in would be idiotic at this point. And remember that in many nations where firearms have been banned for civilian use, horrible events frequently followed, sometimes genocidal events. As one Bosnian citizen of the former Yugoslavia put it:

I think defense is very important – but it must be carried out unobtrusively. If you are in a city
and SHTF comes, you need a simple, non-flashy place, with lots of guns and ammo.
How much ammo? As much as possible.

Let me tell you something: if SHTF starts tomorrow, I’ll be humble. I’ll look like everyone else.
Desperate, fearful. Maybe I’ll even shout and cry a little bit.
Pretty clothing is excluded altogether. I will not go out in my new tactical outfit to shout: “I have
come! You’re doomed, bad guys!” No, I’ll stay aside, well armed, well prepared, waiting and
evaluating my possibilities, with my best friend or brother.

He offered a lot of other good advice, about medical knowledge and lots of antibiotics and other supplies, about how one conducts daily business... but one of the central lessons he learned during those desperate, horrible years in the early 1990's, was that having reliable weapons available was centrally important. Didn't matter if they were banned or not. Just have them. Even a lovely, peaceful society like that in Yugoslavia can be torn apart with the right triggers. When my family visited there in 1969 the place was a paradise. Everyone was healthy and happy. Between then and 1990 it seemed the world was their oyster, tourism becoming huge, hotel development very successful... You just never know. Especially now, with many economies showing potential for collapse in the coming year or two.

i didn't get the pvc tube joke, splain?

Think shovel, hole, container, bury. It is reported that in New Zealand owners of AR15's chose to bury their firearms rather than turn them over to the government for destruction. Unlike Canada there was no registry in New Zealand so the government did not know where the carbines were nor who might own one.

I would assume Trudeau will attempt to seize the banned guns during the winter when the ground is frozen.

paradise for a tourist lol. it was a communist country .... ever seen the queue for food or hospital or getting drugs lol ... always wondered why so many escape from that beautiful country .... JNA and Milica was controlling the country like any dictatorship ...far from a paradise but they did well to attract tourist ...

the most hilarious that the slavonic only can get is paradise: that word means tomato.

the testimony of all survivors are saying the same dont be alone and get firearms and ammo. luckily they were available in caches all around villages and cities.

the worst was for ladies and kids that had to sell their bodies for a can of food but that was not tell very often ...

I was there with my family in 1969, when Yugoslavia was basically paradise for anyone except those violating Tito's rules around pollution. He wanted the land, air, and the Adriatic to be clean. If a factory was secretly dumping crap into the sea, the fine was steep for a first offence. If caught a second time, the factory directors went to the salt mines for 5 years. A death sentence, effectively. Tito was an early environmentalist.

In Split and in my family's village up in the mountains life was pleasant and good in every way. After that time things gradually degraded, but not by much until the 1980's with Tito's decline and death. That changed everything. All the little dictators started wrestling for control, resulting in increasing hardships all over the country, and ultimately leading to the collapse of the country 13 years later. But under Tito Yugoslavia was well run and generally a very happy place. My father left it in the late 1950's, with the support of his family, because the war had left him deeply scarred as a child and he was about to be thrust into military service. He couldn't fact holding a gun. Had an overwhelming, nightmare-driven horror of it. So he left and went on various adventures, eventually settling in Canada. But he visited his home several times and was always glad to be there. His last visit in 1989 was a bit harsh, but only because his mother was fading. Otherwise things were still pretty good in Split. In our family's tiny village most houses were empty, but only because the next generations had also left for the cities, for university, for company jobs instead of farming.
